And people complain that Vancouver can't handle a bit of snow.

More or less the same as mine. Mines a 6' bar that's quite heavy. They come in different weights, the bigger it is the more tiring it'll be to lift and stab but it'll be a lot easier than using a tiny little narrow one that only weighs 5lbs.
Stab the ground all over with the chisel, lay the chisel on an angle on a piece of the asphalt and just keep pushing it forwards and it'll split the ice up to the point where you can take a shovel and easily scoop it up and toss it to the side.
edit:
I asked my shop stores dept where Burnaby orders ours from and it's a place in Vancouver called Micon http://www.miconproducts.com/scaling_bars.html
last one on their list - digging bars

That's going to be a tough one given that you want to do it now.
Have you tried calling around?
Maybe Costco?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk | Ditto, I was at Costco a couple days ago and the tire department was still busy as hell. Likely to be the same at other places like Kal Tire etc but then again if you can find a place with stock you could get a garage to install them since they are not as busy.

I can't believe what a little snow does to this city. From people ready to kill each other for a bag of free fucking salt, to the people acting like they were personally molested by their neighbour due to ice on their sidewalk....
This city is full of fucking idiots.

RS is a car club. Wouldn't it be great if somehow we were able to order salt and shovels for our members? I get emails from Global Industrial and they have salt and shovels in stock. Not for long, probably. Anyway, probably a logistical nightmare, but not impossible. Members place orders, RS charges a nominal fee which gets donated to a worthy charity and to cover costs. Members pick up their orders in a civilized manner at a sponsors' place of business. In a perfect world, of course.

Dad borrowing son's EV isn't cool, either.
It'll probably not snow for the rest of the year. Kind of like washing the car and it starts to rain within a few hours, lol.

When that hits Vancouver, the whole city will be a shit show, so make sure you have your own supplies on hand.

All weather. Saves from buying new rims and TPMS sensors. I now have a set of OEM tires with 26000 km on them. Potato garden in spring, lol.

I broke down and finally installed my Blizzak DM-V2s on the truck. It already had KO2s on it, but the KO2s don't do so well on ice. Great in slush, soft snow and packed snow though!
Have to buy a 3 ton or better jack, I paid a tire shop to do the seasonal changeover this time. Last year I did it with borrowed tools but moved away from the friend who has the big jack for the truck.

presumably all weather is a little softer than all seasons so they might wear quicker?
any real downsides to using them year round?

the snow and weather demonstrate how easily a totalitarian dictatorship could easily take hold even in a society we consider to be civilized.
even a minor inconvenience is enough to send people fighting and harassing each other over resources, and people are reporting each other to the gov't over minor things like not clearing your walk
imagine if a real disaster or calamity struck lol

All weather tires typically have all season tread patterns with extra siping but use winter tire compound.
They are aimed at people who do not drive their cars often enough to justify buying two sets of tires (<10k per year)
There should not be any downside to the all weather tires as long as your car is an appliance and not a weekend toy.

and while we were on the topic of people too lazy to clear their sidewalks and driveways before it froze... we have this:
