Candle light dinner :awwyeah:

What happened afterwards? Did they have backup power? Or did you have to leave (and pay by cash?)

Yes, it all of a sudden became a romantic dinner lol. The power was out for a good 30 minutes before it went back on, we waited it out and paid by machine. They provided a free drink on them for the inconvenience

So that's what happened... I was on Kingsway trying to make a right turn onto Knight but it was so clogged up that I was just stuck signalling and couldn't even make my turn for 3 traffic light cycles...

I just ended up continuing on Kingsway and turned on Victoria instead. It was pretty clear.

Snow's pretty thick out there. Be careful to my all season brethrens~

thumper 02-04-2017 07:28 AM

i don't know if this is common knowledge, but there is a little trick you can try.

if you are a poor bastard who has to shovel this crap all day (eg. me), spray the blade of your shovel with WD40. be generous but use common sense. it makes the snow less able to stick and foul up your blade and it will slide off easier. reapply as necessary as it will evaporate/wear off.

have fun.

This is nuts!! Haha hasn't even come close to stopping, already at around a foot at my place in Langley, couldn't imagine the roads if it was a weekday

Environment Canada has re-issued a snowfall warning for Metro Vancouver this morning. It's expected as much as 25 centimetres could fall today, cautioning the region is in for a "long period of snowfall".

Was just out this morning around Joyce station, main streets are cleared but side streets ... pretty bad. Got stuck even with snow tires. Keep moving and don't stop ... if you can.

I just saw the vancouver city workers with sand/ salt in the alley where I live shooting the shit and smoking a joint...

GS8 02-04-2017 10:22 AM

Snow still coming down in Coquitlam. Pockets of areas losing power. Real mess out in the Valley. I'm seeing blue skies in Richmond though.

After they get high I am sure they will jump back into their 8 ton plow truck and get right back to work... nothing to worry about. :D

can confirm. they did a good job in Richmond, when I left to work yesterday at 7am I saw 3 plows from Granville/Gilbert to Arthur Liang, then zero in Vancouver from Arthur Liang to main + 2nd lol. lots of snow in the side streets but blue skies and the main roads have been maintained relatively well

Euro7r 02-04-2017 11:53 AM

Snow stopped in South Vancouver. Was snowing this morning.

What a morning workout shoveling the alley. Had to try and clear some snow where the plow trucks plowed, blocking alley entrance. My car sits low, it's like a snow plow of its own lol
