Not as silly as one would think. It should give more traction since the center of gravity would rest more on the drive wheels as you are pushing the car. Going up forward would tend to lift the front end much like fwd cars tend to wheel hop off the line at the drag strip.
can't recall the last snowfall but the PS A/S 3+ did quite well today on city streets
predictable without hesitation
probably a different story if we get another 6" and/or if things gets icy
A/S3's are such good tires... I remember back in 2008 when we got a huge dump, I survived with them in a Mazda3... while I never got fully stuck commuting, getting into and out of side street parking spots were challenging (cause of all the snow pile up)
Although I would never do it again. I've never used snow tires before at that point, but now that I have them, it's so night and day difference, I don't think I could go back to using all seasons in snow. It's like going to a buffet and eating fruits for dessert which are alright, but once you taste the cheesecake and tiramisu...

only supposed to be like 5cm now for tomorrow but it actually warmed up today and melted the snow quite a bit, gonna be an icy mess tomorrow
yeah i dont think its just going to be 5cm man..LOL..its already snowing here in Surrey. And sure the salt and brine has melted the main roads but the side roads are fucked
I had battery issues this morning, it's got too cold and could barely get my starter going. It's a newer AC Delco battery, the car does not have any draining issues.
Do you guys have a preferred brand that still works during these lower temps?

A long period of snowfall with total amounts of 15 to 25 cm is expected.
A second low pressure centre in as many days will give more snow to the South Coast tonight and Tuesday.
This second disturbance will spread snow to virtually the entire South Coast with heaviest amounts falling tonight and early Tuesday morning. Total snowfall amounts will vary across the region with 15 to 25 cm falling in most areas. Snow will intensify early this evening on Vancouver Island then later tonight over the Lower Mainland. It will taper off gradually during the day Tuesday.
Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.
Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to BCstorm@canada.ca or tweet reports using #BCStorm.
6mo old kirkland batteries took a bit longer to start, from cold start in a garage, and also just after a 90 min workout, but was fine for the multiple starts in between those two events just had my starter rebuilt shortly after getting the new battery too
Was a mess on the Alex Fraser last night. Cars getting stuck left and right. Bonus feature of one guy who was in such a rush to get around me, then ends up getting stuck. You would think that if you were gonna drive like a dick in snowy conditions, at least have winter tires??

Brand isn't the issue so much as the CCA (Cold Cranking Amps) rating. A lot of the budget batteries have a much bigger drop between the Cranking Amps rating and the CCA. I only buy batteries based on the CCA.

Apparently I gloated too soon...Port is now getting dumped on. Gonna be shoveling soon.

What Dave said. I'm on year 2.5 with whatever battery they put in my Ram from the factory. I don't plug it in ever and she fires right up at -40

Just remember that when shoveling your sidewalk/driveway to NOT block any catch basins. Throw the snow on your yard. Melts during the day with nowhere to go and at night it'll make an ice rink.
