I finally got to use my electric snow shovel for the first time.

Does anyone know how to use these things properly? It's effective in clearing snow out of my property but I can't seem to control it to prevent it from blasting powder out into the street or into my neighbours area.

Dude I saw some guy with one today for the first time. Looked like it worked amazing, but like yoh said it just made a cloud of snow that blew everywhere else

Might've been a road that falls under the province's jurisdiction. The contractors don't have to come out for 48 hours/5cm accumulation. It's stupid.

We went out for dinner in Gastown last night.

Not sure if it's the snow, or COVID, but I've never seen a more quiet/dead night driving downtown on a Saturday in my life.

Driveway............ sidewalks were all done. In the end, since my oldest son was coming over, I did end up shovelling the driveway and spreading a layer of ice melt.

On a side note, shoveled and shoveling is an amurican thing. We, as in the rest of the English speaking world, spell it as, shovelled and shovelling. Punkwax, you pass the test.

You are truly a Canadian.

Me on the other hand............ more amurican than I ever want to admit.

You can't be Amurican. Your is way too big. If you're not afraid to shove some fancy water out of your way so you can go live your life, you're doing better than a fair chunk of the USA.

Apparently my state has made the news up there because we've been crippled by less snow than I've seen come down in October/November back in the Lower Mainland. Based on how people are acting here because of all of this, if some of these Good Ol' Boys saw how it looks out on the Coquihalla they'd soak through their Pampers.

In my specific neighbourhood we've got a centimeter of ice care-of some frozen rain, which is dangerous for people who wear shorts in December and drive giant pickup trucks, but for us expats; we're doing just fine.

For a state that prides itself on rugged independence, its sure not doing well with a few flakes on the ground. Even coming from the warmest part of Canada, I'm Nanook of the fucking North at a time like this.

MG1 could come here and be king of the Lone Star with his snow shovel. He'd be the only one in the state with one!

Number 1 rule. Never rely on city to do anything. Don't people remember it was just like 5 years ago that we had snow, and the city decided to clean bike paths before roads? lol.

And if people are struggling to drive with 1-2 inches of unplowed snow, they should just take transit because their car or their abilities to drive in snow suck.

LOL~ that post of mine is from Feb 13, 2021. The slushy stuff this morning should be fine for any FWD / AWD car on all seasons with decent tread.

Most major streets I drove on in Vancouver and Richmond already had the brine solution applied over the weekend. It’s not even freezing temp now; plies would be overkill lol.
