So true, even my X3 is super happy in this weather.

68style 11-10-2022 07:47 AM

I haven't taken it out in awhile, but my MR2 would regularly hit boost cut in this type of air and I'd have to pull over and re-start it cuz it went into limp mode lol

Hate the cold, hate rain more so as long as it doesn't rain tomorrow for my sons football playoff game I'll be happy.

Lol, sitting in my office with a space heater 16 inches from me blowing right on me all day long. Give me heat haha.

I'm here in Australia to escape our fall/winter... Sydney was nice, but here in Melbourne its been rainy and tonight its 5°c heard some parts of the state had snow. Wth

whitev70r 11-29-2022 05:24 AM

It's coming baby .. meterologists are hyping it up so that usually means that it will be a wimper of a snow storm.

All the banter and discussion on the snow tires thread will get real life test.

Significant snowfall accumulations expected. :considered:

When: Late this afternoon through Wednesday morning for Metro Vancouver and Abbotsford.

Late this afternoon through Wednesday for Fraser Valley east of Abbotsford.

Hazards: Heavy snow. Snow transitioning to rain early Wednesday morning resulting in difficult driving conditions.

Strong southwest wind gusts 40 to 70 km/h may cause snow-covered tree branches to break Wednesday morning.

Remarks: A strong low pressure system is approaching Vancouver Island today. This will bring significant snowfall from late afternoon to early Wednesday morning. Snow will transition to rain or taper off to a few showers or flurries early Wednesday morning for Metro Vancouver and Abbotsford. For Fraser Valley east of Abbotsford, snow will taper off Wednesday evening.

Snowfall accumulations will vary across the Lower Mainland. The heaviest snowfall is expected in North Vancouver, Coquitlam, and Maple Ridge, with 10 to 20 cm expected, except 25 cm over higher terrain. For the city of Vancouver, Burnaby, New Westminster, Surrey, Langley, and Abbotsford, 10 to 15 cm of snow is expected. For Richmond and Delta, 5 to 10 cm of snow is expected.

For Chilliwack and Hope, 20 to 25 cm of snow is expected from this evening to Wednesday evening.

MG1 11-29-2022 08:23 AM

Already heard on the news on my way into work ... be aware that Port Mann and Alex Fraser might close this afternoon to prevent snow bombs. Every year that this comes up, I think of the gift that keeps on giving ... FFS!! I mean close 2 major bridges because it started snowing ... I don't know where to begin.

westopher 11-29-2022 08:49 AM

Lol. Imagine building a billion dollar bridge in Canada, and making it incapable of handling 1.5cm of snow without causing traffic catastrophe and not being held accountable in some way as the builder, engineer, etc. but if someone doesn't like their sandwich they demand it for free.

I always wonder how/if that proposed and then cancelled Massey Tunnel Replacement Bridge would have been done and if they would be suffering from the same fatal design issues.

HonestTea 11-29-2022 09:13 AM

Up to 25 cm, that's quite a bit!

MG1 11-29-2022 10:30 AM

Maybe this time, the forecast will be right.................... btw, I love snow.

Yvr cancel some flights. East coast probably laughing at us. Half foot of snow lol.
Also heard over the radio, 47 percent of vancouverites are not prepared for winter.

Gumby 11-29-2022 10:56 AM

Yeah we're pretty pathetic when it comes to snow, but to be fair, the East coast budget for snow removal is massive compared to ours and they simply have so much more experience dealing with it.

AzNightmare 11-29-2022 11:23 AM

Saw a bit of very tiny flakes earlier in Burnaby, but it stopped now.
Hard to tell it even snowed yet.

Did the radio go on to say what "prepared for winter" even entails?
The statement with no context is pretty meaningless.

teggy604 11-29-2022 01:19 PM

^^ they used example like snow shovel, salt, winter tires, extra clothing in back of car.
