Damm, we must have lucked out where I live in Cloverdale. We had no snow yesterday, as my dad would say the streets are dryer than a popcorn fart.

I am glad i put in the effort last night and shoveled the driveway/sidewalk when it was still powdery and easy. It's nice and clear this morning with zero effort required. my poor neighbor is out there right now trying to chip ice off the driveway and his car trololololol

Yeah, I cleaned off the cars last night too. I got an ego snow blower in the fall, so it was nice to test it out, even with only an inch of snow. Much easier on my back too.

Roads were clear this morning, easy drive. Side streets still icy but not too bad with actual winter tires.

100%, if my driveway wasn't as steep as it is I'd buy one without a doubt even if I only used it twice a year. As is I think I'd get to the bottom and struggle to get it back up, hell cutting my front lawn without using self drive to pull the lawnmower up is a pain in the ass lol.

Same in my area. Can't believe people don't clear right away. They'll have to salt for sure to clear it now.

Better than messing with my back like the last couple years. The time savings was a factor too. Cleared the walks of a couple elderly neighbors too.

I got this one at CT: https://egopowerplus.com/snow-blower-snt2100/

Got it at CT in the fall for $800+tax on sale. Reg $900. Also stacked some CT point bonuses, so got another 70-80 in CT bucks.

Went battery powered as I'm in Vancouver after all, plus there's a gas lawn equipment ban coming up I've heard?

I need a leaf blower as well, so looking for a deal as they use the same battery system. This one came with 2x 4ah batteries, I did the equivalent of a 2 car driveway and used 1/5 of the battery capacity. Guessing that for our typical wetter snow the run time would get reduced for the power need.

I loved having the led headlights on it, having extra light was great. Unit size weight was no different from a typical lawn mower., maybe a touch heavier.

I went with this model with the soft paddle. For you guys in the valley, there's a steel auger model, some folks on Rfd have mentioned that they bought the auger separately and installed it themselves as it's a common drive unit.

Managed to kill the old corder snowblower so got this as a season clearance sale in spring for $300: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00...e?ie=UTF8&th=1

Worked well yesterday, it has the small 2Ah battery but had half power left when I finished. Would probably be more drained if the snow had been deeper.

^Curious to know what it's like when we get slushy snow. I have the older 40V version and it struggles with anything slushy or fluffy snow that's over a couple inches thick.

From what I read, wet fluffy snow is hard for all snowblowers, just have to have more power to push through.

When I was using it last night, I was wondering why it was only throwing the snow 6 feet. Then I remembered the throttle control was at minimum. User error.

They have models that have self drive as well. But yeah the entry models don't, and work best on flat level driveways. The manual warns about gravel half a dozen times to print damage to the auger/paddle/chute and such. So you'd want a fairly clean driveway too

How about getting out there *before* it snows?

https://bc.ctvnews.ca/icy-roads-frig...uver-1.6723299

The City of Vancouver says crews have been out "24/7" since the snow fell, treating the roads for ice and snow. However, people are encouraged to check traffic cameras for conditions on particular roads and are being reminded to slow down and drive to conditions.

It would help if the weather forecasters did their job accurately though…
