What the hell happened to teens who would shovel their own houses and neighbour's houses on snow days. My neighbour's house (with a couple of teens) was totally untouched when I went out to do my walk. This gen of youths ... even if you don't do your old man neighbour's house, get out there and toboggan or something !!

The house next to me was sold a few months ago, pretty sure it's rented to about 5-6 international students/temporary workers.

Saw one of them trying to clear their walkway with a dustpan and brush. I had to lend them my shovel once I was done my walk...

People that rent probably won't invest in a shovel.

bhaha that is a good one. You think these snowflake teens will do manual labour? Most of them are so freaken lazy, that they won't walk downstairs to order food, and rather pay someone to bring it up to them.

Thought this reply was from badhobz...

But you're right, I just spent an hour shovelling snow with my wife and 9 year old, while the teenager son is still sleeping.

This is a function of the parents, not the youth.

I'm a lil older now .... anecdotally - the neighbours on one side who let their kids decorate and take ownership of "one room" of the house, those kids are outside shovelling snow.

The other side? crickets

It seems a bit unfair to generalize all teenagers, or any specific group, based on the actions of a few and associate the entire group with negative behavior. My entire block was unshoveled at 9AM when I was out, and none of the adults were out shoveling.

i still do shovel both side neighbours when i can, i never expect anything in return, but sometimes they reciprocate and shovel ours in return

also saw N. Van RCMP pulling over vehicles and getting them to clear their roofs and windows at the E/B Lonsdale Hwy 1 onramp this morning

We did wake him up, but we're not about to sit there and wait for him to get up, and we don't nag. For round 2 of shovelling this afternoon, he better help out...

Destroy them !!! Throw snow balls at these lousy children.

I did my driveway and my new neighbors because they are old people. I even went back to the old house and did that driveway and my other two neighbours because once again…. Old people.

Fuck these kids. Utter, utter trash

If I had it my way I’d force all these kids to come into work just to fuck with them. Unfortunately we gave them a free work from home day for today and tomorrow. Douche bags

Can't find the quote - goes like this "Thank you to my parents for allowing me to learn whatever I wanted and try any hobbies I liked as a kid... now I'm at home with no sport coordination or hobbies nor social skills in life"

It's so true.

This is why teens will never go shovel.... who's fault is it.... fully their parents..... for being weak sauce on them.

It’s true. Parenting is way too soft nowadays but what can you do? You can’t beat these dumb asses, they’ll squeal to the establishment and you’ll go to jail.

Our immigrant parents didn’t give a fuck about jail. They rather beat you dead first. Canadian jail would have been better than the cans of holiday ham they were eating anyways and the shitty social

I'm on the opposite boat, never had hobbies, sports coordination, or social skills.

Now I'm spamming every sport, hobbies, and social events now that I have the money to so

Almost every friend I know, they have a brother/sister/cousin that's a deadbeat in the family. No skills, no hobbies, and no social skills. Will cry if you ask them to shovel snow and sprinkle salt lol

Was up at 6am shoveling for 30 min so my wife could get to work. Just got back inside after another round. Full driveway, my neighbours driveway, and sidewalk all around. Going to feel it later, my body is not used to this!

Measured the back patio table - 28 cm in the Oaklands area of Burnaby.

Yes F them kids. Meanwhile those of us with doggos, I made a snow maze in the backyard for them so they had a place to shit and piss.

Didn't give a shit, they just did their business and ran back inside. Ungrateful assholes.

So after snowblowing my parents driveway.... I need more batteries. The amount and depth of snow meant that I had to recharge 3x to get the job done. Need more and bigger batteries, the 2Ah isn't going to cut it for deep snowfall.

Had about 10"-12" of snow in North Burnaby, and it's essentially a 6-7 car driveway with a slope so quite a bit of area to cover.

This is what one (probably not fully charged) battery got me. I had to make multiple runs at the first edge to start as it was deep. It was better once I could do passes that only took up half the feed chute.
