I usually do my neighbour's sidewalk if they haven't done it. They've invited us over for their grandkid's birthday parties multiple times. They usually get to it earlier than I do though cause I have morning meetings, but I do another quick clean up for them when I'm out.
I don't know how we managed to get more snow than last year, on an El Nino winter. Warm winter my butt.
I took the M3 out to take my kids out to go sleighing and almost couldn't get back into my garage. Definitely deeper than last year when I had no problems.

My neighbour is over 100 years old so I did her 100’ of sidewalk. Then I noticed my other neighbour’s elderly mother out shovelling their driveway and she says her son and family are in Mexico so I shovelled that one as well.
Took me 2 hours including my driveway

There were kids in my hood going around ringing doorbells offering to shovel for $.
My snowblower has 2 4ah batteries, cleared the equivalent of 3 or 4 car driveway in one go. 45 mins? We had about 11" of snow here.

I've been working all day, I finally have time to go shovel now.
TBH if some kids rang my door, I may have considered, lol.

Those with snow blowers are they single stage or 2 stage?
Does single stage do the heavy wet stuff or bog down?
I live in a corner lot. Too much sidewalk.

Some guy down the street has one. By the time he finished I think he pulled the string like 10-15 times. It seems to get bogged down in the thick snow and it didn’t blow very well this afternoon. This morning it was fine, it blew like the dickens and he was king shit.
Not so much this afternoon

I live in a corner lot. Too much sidewalk. | Mine is single stage. Most electrics are single stage. It can do it ok but as long as it's not too deep.

I have this little thing and used it for the first time today. It was not designed for the depth of snow we had but it was still helpful in terms of reducing the physicality of it. Snow was so deep I had to do 2 passes but the 2nd pass went by pretty quick once it was less than 6" deep. I haven't tired with slushy snow but I would guess it's not great at it.
For $200 including a battery it does the job and takes up very little space in my garage (I have nowhere to store the $500+ machines).

It's one of these days that I appreciate the fact I spent the $$$ on my Ego snowblower.
I remember the days when I was without one... god damn those days sucked bad. Up there with the days I have to clean up the leaf in my yard.
My wife always asked me "why do you buy a tool that you'd only need it once a year?" And I'm like... because you don't deal with the snow b*tch.

I had done my driveway and walk this morning, so I think they skipped me as they saw it had been done in the morning before it got covered up again. Plus I have no sidewalks on my side of the street. I laugh at the 'clear the sidewalk by 10am' bylaw.

I live in a corner lot. Too much sidewalk. | Mines single stage as well. This is my first year with mine so no experience with really wet snow. That's coming tomorrow or Friday maybe, so I'm wanting to find out too.
From what I've read online, even 2 stages have issues with wet snow, more power would help.

When I was using mine, it would do a fine job blasting the snow up into the air, but as long as you don't mind just shooting it into the back alley or into your neighbour's yard, it didn't seem very usable to me otherwise...
The one I had didn't have a way to control the angle. If it could shoot at a low angle so that the snow would just hit my fence, instead of shoot over it, that would have made it so much more useful.

I have about 500-700sf of driveway and sidewalk that I have to clear and I'd say that's the most space you'd want to use it for.
In my case I have place to spray the snow (my lawn or the part of the driveway I don't have to clear) so spraying straight ahead isn't too much of a problem. Definitely not able to throw it over a fence though. OTOH, my 4 year old had a blast getting sprayed by it.

I honestly despise snow but that baker back drop at least makes it look nice.
