Are the CC2's only good on certain vehicles? Have them on a fwd Sienna, not all season slippery but not too confident on them in snow anything outside of flat roads
Cc2s are great and all but they can’t overcome physics. Your super front heavy sienna isn’t going to be great in the snow/ice regardless of tire choices if you’re trying to climb an icy boundary road.
You’ll need studded ice tires for that kinda shit.
I liked Thai Son before it moved locations. After the move, I felt like portion got smaller and it was more expensive. Gotta pay for those renos.
True when it first moved location. But the last year been eating around all the pho places. Thai Son was still the same price and same large portion while the rest has shrunk and gotten more expensive. Pho37 got even worse after they moved to the bigger location at capstan.
Been going to Ha Cafe since they were in Old Orchard, but they moved to across Metrotown (where Yaguchiya used to be) so parking isn't as great. Used to see the owner there everyday cleaning in the evening, so I started going there more often.
Later in the night, I'll usually go to Pho Hong since they're basically 24/7, lol. Portions have been consistency huge for the past 20 years and they give you a crap ton of meat.
Pho Hong's prices have gone up. $20 a bowl. I went to the place at Solo district instead.

CC2s have been beastly on my shit ass 1wd golf wagon these past few days. Passing all the range rovers with people sitting 2 inches from the steering wheel going 8km/h with ease.

I used to hit up Phở Nhuận in East Van sometimes because it's in the area butat one point in the pandemic I got a Pho Tai Bo Vien and when I went home I thought I got pranked I mean I know times were tough and people were scaling back but shiet it was embarrassing. It was one beef ball cut into pieces and 2 slices of beef and you know the slices in pho are already small. Felt like I just got a plain bowl of noodles and soup needless to say I've not stepped foot in that place ever again.

So, the Civic does shockingly well in the snow with proper tires. Main issue is the ground clearance. I feel like LSD does help on the side streets and back lanes - comparing to my Mazda 3 previously.
I've been to Pho Den (Kingsway & Gilley) a few times lately and it's not bad - the wings are delicious while the pho can be a bit hit and miss though the last time the broth was spot on. In its favour it's clean and the staff are very friendly.
If we get more snow I'd love to hear feedback on how single stage blowers do with the wet stuff. Snowblower is useless for me if it cannot move heavy snow.

ya i recently discovered pho den and agree the wings are good, and the pho ain't bad.
Yes, those work pretty well. Especially if you have to move very very heavy snow. Like snow that's piled up on the side of the road blocking in your driveaway after the plow goes past. You don't need to lift it off the ground, it saves your back.
I have one and it's way better than a regular shovel. It moves a lot more snow at a time and doesn't require you to lift anything off the ground. I used it last night to clear the snow that the plow left in front of my driveway. When not in use though, it takes up a ton of space and is bulky to store.
It definitely has its uses. I also own a cheap wired snowjoe blower to clear the light fluffy stuff when it's there.

I would say Sorel is a high quality boot company. They make good quality winter boots. The thing is, winter boots are pretty niche though. How often do you need a winter boot?
So, on sale I feel like they're a good deal, but I wouldn't wear it enough to justify it at full price.
I have blundstones, but they provide almost no grip in the winter weather when there's snow/slush, so having a winter boot for me when I go out for a walk is a must.
I went to the Thai Son on E Broadway and Kingsway around 6PM a couple months ago with 4 people and their soup base was very diluted compared to any pho shop that I've ever been to. Is there a better location that doesn't water down their broth so I can give it a second chance?
I have that exact model but in grey. Works really well if you have a place to dump the snow. If you have to pile the snow up it can be a bit of heavy lifting after a while as it can hold so much snow.
