Because they were only sold here in Canada...
I believe most EK civic parts will work with the EL as they are essentially the same car

Actually they were sold elsewhere in the world
The car is also known as the Honda Domani (Japan) and the Isuzu Gemini (forgot where, I think Bahamas was one).
But yes, they share a lot of parts with the Civic. I think they shared a lot of mechanical parts with the 2000 Civic Si. If you asked me this like 6 years ago I could've answered easily.

You will find some engine mods.. but not many cosmetics. I looked in to a 1.7 a while back, it looks exactly like the civic, and still no civic parts would fit. They all had to be custom rolled, etc. All small jobs, but it's just more for you on the to-do list.

^Yes, absolutely do not purchase a 01-03 with an auto.
What year are you interested in purchasing, because its basically a dressed up civic, so most civic parts actually will fit.

As danz mentioned, most parts, like the front lip and side skirts will be from 96-00 civic in terms of aesthetics.
Foglights are only authentic domani ones which are rare and way overpriced ($200+ per set), easier to just buy the universal "blazers" projector fogs.
Short shifters will work with the 96-00 civic as well as the 94-97 integra, i'd suggest the dual bend so you don't have to lean forward to reach the shifter after the install.
Rear bumper is interchangeable with the 96-00 civic sedans, it's common for most 1.6EL owners to get the civic rear bumper and get a civic rear lip. Otherwise no rear lip available for the 1.6EL.
Got any 1.6EL on the market you're looking at already? For the right price I might let mine go

Thanks for all your responses. Yeah I just learned they were only in canada...for the most part, and I just figured that's why parts are soooooooo limited. I was looking for a 1.6EL so anything 97-00. I want the sport model, if I can find one. Color isn't a big deal. Anything but silver, god I hate silver. I have no specific one checked out. It won't be for a few months anyway. So as for mods I was just looking into thing like suspension. Different turn signal lenses. Exhaust. And lips. And intake probably. Just goin for the slammed look mostly. So I should check the EK's? Posted via RS Mobile |

Suspension is just EK. which means 92-2000 will fit
Lips: any 96-98 civic lip will fit with very little modding required
Exhaust: you can look into Civic coupe and sedan axle backs. Not Hatchback cause it will be too short. Depends if you really want it to be flush with the bumper, I'm running a ITR spoon n1 axle back right now on the EL.
If you need cheap parts. EL's are showing up at ralphs now. Last time I was there, they had nine sitting there.

one thing that was mechanically different was that the 1.7EL's had 4 wheel disc.. no civics other than the Ep3 had this.
