Gotta say hello to your new diet of minimal caloric intake!
On top of what the guy above me said about the Ab Ripper X, you may want to research on what the P90x diet plan is. That....plus what everyone else has already said.

I think the 3 things that contribute to getting good abs is cardio, diet, and ab exercises.

Cardio is the first key IF u got the donut gut. Yes, it will help you shed the excess poudage....But if you're already at an ideal weight, cardio will get you absolutely nowhere to get you ideal abs.
Not saying to cut out the cardio....but if you're intending to get ideal abs, you better make sure you're able to outrun anyone on the sportsfield. I wouldn't find it amusing if someone of an under-par fit level was able to outrun me at anything if i had kick-ass abs.

Oh, another thing (don't hold me to this information) that will help bring out the ab muscles is if you work the muscles from the inside out....as in concentrating more in the core excercises.
I guess there is still this misperception of ab excercises working out the core, although they are in the same area of the body are still different muscles. So yeah...spend more time strengthening your core before finishing of ur abs. Plus, nothing wrong with stregthening your core either....these excercises are very underrated and is very sports-functional.
Core:
-planks (side planks)
-braced squats
-mountain climber
-ab-roller (or with the balance ball)
-oblique twists
-superman/banana balance pose
Abs:
-crunches
-air bicycle
-sit ups
etc.

Im at a ideal weight. Im 5"6 and 150 pounds (mostly muscle now)
I lost my donut but i still have a layer of skin on my lower stomach that covers my lower ab. My buddy told me that i should just work out my abs and they will reveal themselves as I have a "flat stomach". I acknowledge that dieting is the most important aspect in getting abs but dunno how clean i have to eat -_-"
I eat a lot of wheat and brown rice. I did the ab ripper x but nothing really significant happened.
I know many of u RS users use to have a donut and now have abs so i'm looking for some tips =D

from my experience.. cardio did the less fat burning for me
i have researched online and watched alot of videos and the pros always say most common mistake for ppl wanting abs are doing cardio and small ab exercises.
u gotta do more squats, deadlifts, bench press, chin up

i have never do any ab work at all, diet is key more or less, dont do any side bends with weight that will puff your sides out actually and if u r going to do abs just use body weight

then you have your ab exercises check out the p90x ab ripper x
and for your abs to be visble you need a minimal amount of fat.. so doing some cardio would definitely help

all of that with crunches as well. Way back in the day when I wasn't round I used to do over 1000 crunches through out the day and I had a killer 6 pack. Now I just have a keg and I don't even drink beer |

I use to do a lot of bench press 185lb which is ideal for my weight. Ive been doing some dead lifts and squats. Maybe I just gotta get at it harder.
As for my diet, I try to stay clean. I try not to eat a lot of white rice anymore, too much carbs. Thanks for the tips btw
