I've noticed they have added Vancouver locations A and B. Any of u know where the location actually is? Tried calling the yvr location, but the best i can do is leave a msg and their process time is up to 4 business days. Hoping someone here already knows the answer cuz GOES shows openings in feb!

There were 2 Vancouver locations when I booked mine. One was at YVR and the other was downtown on Dunsmuir

Would like to know the answer to this also, cause my friend is telling me the same thing!

My g/f went to DT one.

Here's the screen cap that my friend sent me.

It shows both downtown and airport but also location A and B which are not clarified.

Ch28 02-11-2013 06:45 PM

Tell your friend to do those locations and report back lol

TypeRNammer 02-12-2013 03:16 PM

So my friend contacted the cbsa and they had no idea what she was talking about

It's by invitation only I think, I received an e-mail about it. I originally had my appointment scheduled for April 1st at the Blaine location but rescheduled for February 20th at YVR.

This is the email I received.

Quote:

Our records indicate that you have scheduled an appointment to finalize or renew your NEXUS membership at the Blaine Enrolment Center in the upcoming months.

In order to assist with quicker processing of new and existing members, we would like to provide you with an opportunity to schedule an earlier appointment. Please note that these new appointments will be posted on the GOES scheduler on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at 12:00 pm.

There will be a limited number of appointment slots available on a first come, first serve basis on the following dates:

February 20th, 21st, 22nd, 23rd, 24th - 8:00 am to 4:00 pm

February 27th, 28th and March 1st - 8:00 am to 4:00 pm

If you wish to reschedule your current appointment to an earlier date, please log onto your GOES account at https://goes-app.cbp.dhs.gov/main/goes and select "Reschedule Appointment". At that time, you will be able to view the available appointments identified as Blaine A and Blaine B. These two locations will state “By invitation ONLY”

Since dedicated parking will be available for individuals taking part in this blitz, you MUST record where you have scheduled your appointment (at Blaine A or Blaine B) in order to park your vehicle and be directed to the correct workstation when you arrive for your interview.

These appointments will be held in the building beside the NEXUS Enrolment Center located at 9901 Pacific Highway, Blaine. Once you select a new appointment and "Confirm", your appointment will automatically be changed to the new date.

This e-mail has been sent as an advisory. If you do not wish to change your current appointment, no further action is required. Thank you for your interest in the NEXUS program.

Oh, weird.

It sounds like a trap to me :troll:

Eff-1 02-18-2013 12:39 PM

In case people are wondering on timing. I applied Jan 2. Received conditional approval Jan 20. Interview was originally scheduled for late May in Blaine, but after 3 days I found an earlier slot for Feb 9 at YVR. Card arrived today Feb 18.

Vale46Rossi 02-18-2013 12:59 PM

wow... you found an earlier slot? :(

Lucky me and my girlfriend are Mar 27th and I applied in DEC

Friend of mines had an appointment in July, managed to find a slot 2 weeks from now.

Vale46Rossi 02-18-2013 01:07 PM

Do you guys just check back everyday?

I guess I didn't do that and that is why...

I found spots for 20 and 22nd of this month at

Blaine Enrollment Center - B
9999

But I have no idea where that is.

bcrdukes 02-18-2013 02:59 PM

Persistence pays off.

If you read a couple of posts up, locations A and B are specifically for people who were sent an email indicating they can re-book for an earlier time slot.

I saw that but I was still able to choose a date and was wondering what happens if I did....

I would assume its a system where if I show up they won't know.

Eff-1 02-18-2013 08:39 PM

I wouldn't risk that. Seems like they don't mess around with this program.

Best thing is keep checking every day. From when I originally booked an appointment, I checked 2x per day and each time I found a slightly earlier appointment. First by a couple days, then by a couple weeks, and eventually by a couple months.

krazynuck 02-18-2013 08:47 PM

I was sent the email to get an earlier time...I went from April to next week...very happy....since i first applied in October

inv4zn 02-18-2013 08:48 PM

If you read my posts above, my girlfriend had her interview 5 days after her conditional acceptance and got her card 4 days after that.

I got my interview 2 weeks after my acceptance, and my card in a week as well.

We checked back maybe 4-5 times a day.

That's what I thought....

I am gonna check back everyday from now on.

NEXUS makes little to no exception when it comes to rules.

I know people who have lost their NEXUS membership. Totally not worth it!

gars 02-20-2013 10:43 AM

Just came back from my Nexus interview. I didn't know that you're not supposed to be bringing back third-party goods. IE, I'm not supposed to pick up my friend's package while I'm down there.

Did anyone else know this?

inv4zn 02-20-2013 02:09 PM

you're always treading on dangerous waters when you tell them you're picking up something for someone else, regardless of Nexus interview or not.

I help my buddies out, but tell them to ship it under my name if I ever do pick up something for someone else. Or go with them.

I knew about it when I read the brochure
