^Dang I didn't know of that place. Definitely a possibility, but given that Canada Place Vancouver is a port of entry and Edmonton is not, it's a stretch. At least when Dunsmuir wasn't Dunsmuir, the GOES website said "Downtown Location A" or something like that. |
oh god i hope it's not that location in edmonton. i moved my interview to a later date because the location worked better. time to do some digging and make some phone calls. i'll let you guys know what i find out |
I pm'd blum2001 who reported about the Canada Place opening as his gf received an letter saying, she may switch to Canada Place for the Interview. blum2001 copied and pasted a section of the email and it says ....interview at the Canada Place Cruise Ship Terminal...... Cruise Ship Terminal, its pretty much talking about the Canada Place in Vancouver Edit: Another potential clue that its not the Canada Place in Edmonton, the earliest date interview at Edmonton Airport is Janaury 17, compared to Vancouver' Enrollment center/Blaine were at least in May, YVR were like in July, before they opened Canada Place. Edmonton don't need a second enrollment office when no one is needing for interview lol |
yes they are. i just called and the lady told me canada place, as for where inside they don't know yet as they were just informed of it today as well. she told me to call be a day or two before my interview for exact location. |
Time to move my appointment. Thanks! Edit: Well that was quick- all my intended switch targets were taken (available as of this morning). The power of RS. |

The enrollment center is listed as “Canada Place” in GOES. Thank you, Customs and Border Protection |
The spots will fill up fast once people get word of this and like m3thods said, most are already gone. All of my friends who have been waiting are all getting their interviews next week so don't hesitate on it. I think I'm actually more excited about my girlfriends interview then she is. I'm sick of waiting in the regular line even though I have my nexus already lol. |
^hahah I can imagine. I actually signed my fiancee and I up together, and booked our appointments together for precisely that reason. I've already said to the rest of my family that I'm not waiting in the regular lineup so I can drive them, so they get NEXUS or drive themselves lol Edit: woohooo fiancee had a Friday off so we bumped ours up a month earlier. So amped! Just to be sure: are there multiple interviews per time slot? I signed up first for a time slot, then when I did my fiancee's the same slot was available so I took it. Should I move it to the next available time? |

If I recall there were 3 others with me at the airport during the same time slot while I was doing my interview. This was 7 years ago though but I'm sure it's the same if not better. |
Yup separate accounts were used. Wooooo I've seen 5-7 people doing interviews at the YVR office, but those times could be overlapping. There was about 2 minutes between switching accounts, so I think if it still remained it's all good. |
Yay got spot in beginning of Feb. I booked 1330 for myself and 1345 for my gf. I went back to my own account trying to do 1345 to test out but say it is no longer available. So it might really be 1 person per 15 minute slot. |
Thanks to this thread I moved my appointment from end of April to mid-February at the Canada Place location! |
I know its at Canada Place, Terminal Cruise Ship office, anyone know where that exactly located? is it underground? |
^I think we're just waiting for the first RS member to actually go through it lol. Mine's on Feb. 7th, so if no one answers before then I'll likely call the Canadian Nexus hotline to ask, and go super early to look around. |
So damn long for waits now Remember when I got mine, you can actually "drop in" into the Hydro building location, and if they weren't busy, they can interview you right on the spot. |
If you check back often enough, it's pretty easy to find something a lot sooner. I move mine from May to March to February 7th in a matter of 2 weeks. There might even be some Canada Place spots for a weekday still, but I haven't checked since booking my last appointment. |
i just moved my tuesday appointment to monday. always check it's easy to move ahead |
^Next Tuesday? At Canada Place? If so maybe you could shed some light as to where the office is lol EDIT: Quote:

I have a question I asked, but didn't get replied in the application form, it asked for my vehicle year make model license plate so now on my interview schedule summary page at the very end it says Vehicles that must be inspected: 2010 Honda Civic 123ABC so do I have to bring my vehicle? and they will inspect it? |
The inspection is only for vehicles coming from the mexico side iirc. They stopped asking for registrations on this side because it was difficult to keep track in case nexus holders were driving another vehicle. I made the same mistake, but I'll be driving my car to my appointment in case they insist. |
I applied online and it never asked about my vehicle. Did the interview at Blaine recently, not much of an interview to be honest. Checkin, verify identification, then from the american guard just a couple basic questions, my intentions for Nexus, what I do for work, etc. Of course a few curve balls to razz me a bit and see if I'm a sketchy mofo. After a few minutes it was time for picture and prints, then the canadian guard covered all the rules. Clerical worker covered details of declarations and using the card, answered some questions. |
i made the same mistake way back when i applied online and put my car info in. they never even asked about it. when i inquired at the interview they said don't worry about it, it's not for canadians. |
I think that was for fast lanes which is a program for the US/mexico boarder. Posted via RS Mobile |
ya, i just did my renewal application and the VI part was for if you are driving from mexico to the US. |
For those who already have nexus card, when you login to GOES, under the program section, does it just have a "Manage" on the far right? Why im asking is that i just received my Nexus but nowhere do i see activate my card on that page, i assumed it is already activated |
