it usually scan on the first try, well going southbound it does. I would assume the same for northbound. trying to schedule my interview. yvr is a 4 month wait, blaine is a 3 month wait. :fuuuuu: |
Finished my interview today. Took me about 1.5 hours as well. The Iris machine was down and then their network was slow. Was asked why do I want the nexus pass and how long I've been living here. |
Just curious... It says Canada place location is only open til feb 20th.. .What happens after? do they close for good or moving elsewhere? seems like it's a long wait for interviews now lol |
Last i checked there was a opening at blaine office for this Saturday at 4pm. Too bad i dont get off work till 5pm. Posted via RS Mobile |
ya.. looks like only only June for Blaine at this time.. It's still taking appointments for Canada place after Feb 20. I wonder if it will remain open... |
Anyone gone to Dunsmuir location for the interview? |

You just need to keep looking for an earlier spot. I was able to move my interview up 3 months in 1 week, but it helps to be beside a computer all day. |
i booked mine for dunsmuir office in May. My card doesn't expire till end of May anyways. |
What sucks is there's 3 in my family and I gotta find a spot that has 3 in a row to save time lol... It looks like Canada place has been extended til end of March so I chose that.. is it hard to find? |
I have 3 in my family including myself and was lucky enough to find 3 consecutive spots for Canada place. Got the times from 3-330. Took me 1.5 hours though. We got there early, IRIS scanner was down, the computer network went down for a bit. It wasn't hard to find, as long as u enter the convention centers main lobby and u just walk down to the end of the hallway on the left and take the elevator down to the CS floor. |
nice.. I booked Canada place as well..but I just checked this morning and was able to snag 3 in a row in Blaine for March... it's a few days later than Canada place but that's ok if it's a little quicker and probably hang out in the states after as well so it works out.. |
Effective April 7, 2014, the Vancouver Urban Enrollment Center will be moved to 1611 Main Street, Vancouver, BC V6A 2W8 |

Just wanted to shed some light on some issues i've been having with NEXUS lately. i've been a nexus member for a couple years now. recently i started importing a baking flour for my business and earlier today i got in trouble for doing what i had understood as following the rules. the online nexus information and the member's guide booklet CLEARLY states you are not allowed commercial goods to be transported in the nexus lane. It makes it clear you are not allowed to have in your possession any commercial goods in any nexus program including air or water. what it happened to me this morning completely baffles me still. i went down to blaine to pacific mail and parcel to pick up my goods and got stopped on the way INTO the US with no commercial good in my possession. they informed me that you are not allowed to be in the nexus lane even if you INTEND to purchase commercial goods in the us and then properly import them into canada. i ended up getting a warning on my file, which i will be disputing on the grounds that there is nothing in the written rules that says you can not travel in the nexus lanes going into the us with the intention of purchasing commercial goods. honestly the whole thing is bs imo. the cbp officers i talked to were blind you the fact that there was no way i could have known i was breaking the rules. i'll update this when i hear back from the cbp/cbsa offices. i sent them a lengthy but imo very respectful complaint and filed a grievance with the blaine office for them to review my warning notice. EDIT: should also add that before i started importing commercial goods i did my research INCLUDING talking to the cbp officers at the point roberts crossing. they actually told me it was ok at the time. i decided this afternoon to call and ask them again what the rules were and the officer actually said it was OK AGAIN! when i confronted him with the issues i had earlier in the day and he backtracked and said i needed to have some special transmitter to be able to go through the nexus lane.... so honestly i feel like these guys are just making shit up as they go. |
so you cant bring water? like a box of 24 bottles? even if its for myself ? lol |
If you're going on a day trip and you have 24 bottles of water, that looks pretty suspicious. Yes you're likely not going to sell said water in the USA, but it still doesn't look right and would likely be grounds for a more thorough search. If it's a road trip for a few days and you're bringing it, I doubt they'd bat an eyelash. I just wanted to add- I used my Nexus card today for the first time ever to bypass a 30 min wait south and north. God damnit what a rush. I can't imagine what it's like to bypass a 2hr lineup. I'd probably need to wear diapers for when that fateful day occurs. |
Ya, ive bypassed a 3hr bc day lineup. Feels good. Posted via RS Mobile |
Anybody go thru renewal process.. Mine is expiring towards the end ofthe year, do iI have to wait till then and go thru the whole process? Posted via RS Mobile |
I was wondering about the Nexus lane, are you only allowed to use cars you have registered or can I borrow my brother's car (which isn't registered) for the day to go through the border through Nexus? |

Does anyone have experience with Nexus and the I-94? I understand if your I-94 expired, then you can not use the Nexus lane. If we use the regular lanes and then go inside the office, are we allowed to use the Nexus lane inside (basically fast traks you to the front of the line). Also, once we get the renewed I-94, are we allowed to use the Nexus lane coming back to Canada or do we have to reactivate the Nexus card in GOES first? |
