Yeah you can. Make sure you scan it before you get to the booth. I didn't the first time I used the regular lane, thankfully the border agent didn't give me too much grief about it.

For RS parents that have applied for Nexus for their newborns, any idea how long it takes for the initial review/approval process?
Does the process work the same as adults where once we are approved, we have to book a interview appointment (which takes another few months) or can we just drop in without an appointment?

You can go in without an appointment as long as you have the conditional acceptance letter. Theyll take the kids picture and youll get the card a week to 10 days later

Which location are you doing the renewal at?
I did mine downtown at the BC Hydro building and it wasn't even two weeks. You just have to keep checking a few times a week, find an opening that works for you, and jump at the opportunity.

Quick question about updating your passport on GOES:
I can't seem to update the Issuing office. Is this something I have to do in person? I thought you can update your documents on the GOES site.
Thanks in advance!

I'm due for renewal in 2018 so it won't be a while until I can provide an updated answer.

Thanks in advance! | log in and on the left side there's an option to update info. on there you can update your identification info which would be passport (assuming that's what you used). I recently had to update them all for the family and did it all online very easily. Only 1 of us for some reason had issuing org and said something weird i couldn't change but i didn't are the passport # was updated which i believe is what they're most anal about. Quote:

I just clicked on the renew link when i was notified of expiring soon and just went through the steps to confirm my info which is essentially all the same (assuming you keep your stuff up to date like you're supposed to).

It is best to go to the nexus office to update the passport info. They want to photo copy it. I had to do that for my family.

Regardless, I think I'm going to go do it in person anyways and ask.

Thanks in advance! | When you UPDATE, it only updates the US side (GOES), if you get a new passport, you have to go to the office (CDN) side and get it changed. I got pulled to the side and have it explained to me clearly.

NEXUS - Updates to personal information Quote: NEXUS members can access the Global Online Enrollment System (GOES) to update address changes and passport information that is already on file. Even if you did not apply using GOES, you can still confirm or update your information by creating a GOES account, which enables you to view and modify your file. Please note that NEXUS members are not required to report to an Enrolment Centre to update or change their passport information with the CBSA.
NEXUS members must report to an Enrolment Centre to update or change other information including:
Legal name changes
Changes to citizenship documents
Changes to permanent resident card information
Changes to naturalization certificates
Changes to work visas or study permit information
Changes to employment information if the change affects your eligibility to the program
Changes to legal custody and legal guardian status or jurisdiction (for all NEXUS members under 18)
Changes that could affect your NEXUS membership such as an arrest, a criminal charge, a conviction or a customs or immigration violation in Canada or the United States
Purpose of travel changes (business/pleasure/school, etc)
To update an email address, please contact a Canadian Processing Centre.
On occasion, NEXUS will need to contact you regarding program changes. Therefore, please ensure that NEXUS always has your current contact information on file. | So if you have to renew your passport, you just have to update GOES.

In both your cases, did your passports have a different issuing office? That's my issue in that I can't modify that part. Otherwise everything else can update fine on GOES.
Anyways like I said, I'm heading to the airport in a few weeks so I'll inquire at the office there.

The new one was issued in Richmond.
I couldn't update it either, but no issues while crossing. (yet lol)

Just updated my account at YVR.
The guy said that updating a new passport has to be done in person to update both sides. GOES (as we already know) updates the US side.
This clearly goes against anecdotal evidence here, but if you want to be safe it's best to update new passports in person.

I've moved since getting my card and updated my address on GOES, but I'll need to update it with the CBSA in person correct?
cheers
