car registration is not required for Canadians. When I did my interview a while back I asked what's up with the car thing, they said that's for americans only. I entered all of my car info during the registration process so it doesn't affect your application either way. calling sucks you'll not get through 99% of the time. You can leave a message and 'hope' they'll call back. either way don't worry about the car thing

^Thanks for clearing that up for me!! I guess my parents won't need to bring each of their cars when they go in together afterall.

Couple of my friends got approved for nexus after one month of initially applying. But there's a huge back log for appointment dates. Earliest date is in January.

Yep, the online approval process doesn't take too long.

I applied in June and got approved within a couple weeks, but my interview isn't till November.

Glad the processing time is faster.

Earlier in the year when I applied, it was a two month wait before I got conditionally approved

I would keep checking back to see if there are any open slots for an earlier date. That's what one of the members said in this thread.

My friend managed to snagged an appointment in the first week of October.

my application for denied, kinda sucks, they gave a pretty vague reason too

"Other: You do not meet the program eligibility requirements"

anyone else get denied? if so, did you ask to get it reviewed?

Weird....so they didn't give you a specific reason?

When someone gets declined there's always a reason to it. Have you ever had any issues with customs, immigration, or crim

During my first interview, the US side sort of denied me cause I was between jobs at the time (which was weird cause my wife who was also between jobs got approved instantly) but they gave me 30 days to show how I wouldn't essentially be a candidate to be a drug mule (they pretty much said that was the reason for denying) so in 30 days I went back to and actually got the same US customs person and I guess convinced them that I was no threat and they approved me ...

They should always give you a clear cut reason to deny, its the USA, they are all about checks and balances when it comes to these things so there is no doubt that can be brought up later on in some form of legal action ...

dachinesedude 09-29-2012 11:28 AM

ive been told that if a immediate family member has had immigration problem, i'd get red flag too

ok i think thats the case

I would check back at GOES at least once a day to see if there's an open slot for an earlier appointment.

Just remember to bring your birth certificate to the interview as they need to photocopy. When you read the paperwork, it is worded such that you think it is optional. It isn't. I had to go back on Sunday.
Interview went well at the airport.
Very friendly USA and Canadian border guards that interviewed us.

Kaolinite 10-11-2012 07:05 PM

^ my sister forgot to bring hers and they "yelled" at her but she still passed hahaha

Dec26 interview wew..

NLY 10-11-2012 07:18 PM

I didn't know we had to bring our birth certificates. I thought we just had to bring a copy of the "letter of approval", passport and license.

good thing I checked this thread!

Yeah, the wording sucks and they even said that a lot of people forget to bring their birth certificates.

Hopefully this will save anyone a second trip back.

keifun 10-14-2012 12:40 AM

I forgot to bring my birth certificate too for my interview at US customs in Blaine. Yeah the wording sucks but both the CBSA lady and US customs guy were very nice and approved me and just told me to bring in my birth certificate to any Nexus office next time, same as to going to YVR for my retina scan.

Anyways..driving thru the Nexus lane passing by all those cars feels awesome!!!

racerman88 10-14-2012 09:37 AM

We can't wait to get our nexus pass in the mail. It will come before Black Friday. We. Might consider going down now that we have the pass

jackp0t 10-14-2012 12:37 PM

question
does the birth certificate only apply to people born in canada?

this is what mine says

Document Required for Interview:
A copy of your Conditional Approval Notification
For Citizenship of CANADA:
Passport
For Admissibility:
Passport
