What kind of phone for Pay as you go?
 
I'm purchasing some pay as you go credit/phone for someone who is visiting for a weeks.

Do I just need any phone that takes a SIM card?

It may need to be an unlocked phone if you're using a SIM for a phone that's not from the same provider. (i.e. if you use a Bell SIM in a phone from Rogers)

Some dealers claim they'll give it to you for free if you sign up on the spot. Some will charge you $20.
