It's the multitouch rotating features that the N1 (and 99% of all Android phones) are missing

no biggie..but sorta sucks..but gonna tough it out
I can't justify the upgrade to the Nexus S.
i been readin bout it just now. I can't justify the upgrade. and im sure that the N1 will still get some decent support.
Its just a matter of when or IF Samsung/Google will release a (850/1900/2100) ver of this phone. then I might switch. I can already sorta see the advantage of that curved screen if I were to type in portrait mode. For now, I have the Gingerbread keyboard on my N1
as for an update... EVO4G, HTC wildfire has gotten their ports of 2.3

The curved display is just curved glass, the display itself is not curved, only the glass that is glued onto it is. Which also means that if you scratch or crack the glass, you have to replace both as you can not separate them. http://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/Nexus-S-Teardown/4365/2
The only thing it has going for it is the vanilla rom and dev support, the actual phone is nothing special and the speed tests prove it. http://www.anandtech.com/show/4059/n...the-holidays/8 |

Too many factors affect how the phone will run such as ROM, kernals, appls

I just changed over to wind and I'm deciding between this, the nexus one or samsung galaxy s.
What do you guys think?
"True android" that much better then on the samsung? Never used an android before so I have no clue on the difference.

it happened in the nexusones as well, nothing a custom rom wouldnt fix either.
I actually just threw 2.3 on my nexus one
gonna give it a day and see how it is
it wasnt an easy process to install 2.3 on my phone, but so far so good
nothing really spectacular either
Me, ghostrider and probably a few others will tough it out and continue our support on the NexusOne
so far, no bugs have really been reported, but it seems like android still runs smoother on the qualcomm snapdragon processor vs the supposedly faster hummingbird cortex A8

I will buy one right away when a 850/1900/2100 3G comes out. I am in asia for 2weeks of everymonth so I need something that will work in both places. Sux that they came out with the AWS version first or I would have gone down to Best Buy in Bellingham to get one. I have already had two bricked Galaxy S's. The second one is back to Bell for service.....I wish HTC would make a true world phone!!! I might have to get a Motorola Global or XT610...

ATT/Rogers/Bell/Telus will not play along. These 4 carriers will want to load their own garbage onto the device in order for them to subsidize the phone for Samsung.
From what I read, ATT pulled out of hte deal last minute, and by the time that happened, devices had been ordered and Google had to sell the device
who knos...but i really hope for a rogers/fido compatible version

There will be a port of gingerbread soon for the Galaxy S i9000 which we are lucky to get from bell and use on any of the networks here since its the first to get any updates.
Also since the release of the Nexus S you can be sure that the Gingerbread CyanogenMod for the Galaxy S will be based off the stock Nexus S ROM since the hardware is virtually identical.
What holds back the Galaxy S line is how samsung set up their touchwiz on top of Android and their whole file system. Which is why when u put in a lagfix the performance gain is almost 300%.
JK4 unrooted no lagfix scored 980 in quadrant JL2 scored 1100. and Stock Eclair scored 880. Stock Eclair with Lag fix scored 2400 thats messed up. Anyone know if the Nexus S is plagued by the same file system even though it runs a vanilla Gingerbread rom?
