What Should I do? Can't Decide...

Here's my situation:

I bought a 9700 Bold in March of this year. However the speakers started to malfunction on me recently so I called Rogers and they sent me a new phone (because it's within the 1 year warranty).

To my surprise the speakers of my original Bold started working again. If I keep the new phone, they will charge me $600 if they find nothing wrong with my original. So now I'm basically stuck with a temperamental defective phone.

In addition to that problem, the iphone4 has caught my eye. One of the biggest turn-ons for me is the "Retina Display." It's so beautiful to look at. But I have a PC and that would mean converting all my video files into Quick Time format and such (correct me if I'm wrong). Not only that, but Apple products are censored since they control the App Store and you need iTunes for your computer to input songs into your phone. That's going to be another $738.08 out of my pocket.

I feel like the Bold2 is an awesome phone considering it does what I need it to do, but I feel like I would enjoy the iPhone4 more since I like surfing the net and watching stuff in HD. (I commute to work to save gas.)

Let me know what you think.

Thanks.

I dont think it would be worth your while to spend $600 on the new (old) 9700.
If you're a traditional blackberry user then I'd stick with a blackberry. I was in your situation not too long ago and couldnt decide whether to keep my iphone4 and sell of my blackberry, and in the end I chose to stick with my berry.

The iphone4 is an amazing device but unless you feel the need for all the apps why bother? The blackberry gets things done (besides browsing and video watching) quite well.

On another note, the bold 2 is awesome

+1

I'm using the iphone 4 now and was thinking of getting a torch or a 9700 to play around with for christmas and then sell off later. Used 9700 are under 200 now anyways. But the browsing speed is pretty bad on the Blackberries and also the interface compared to the iphone. I think I'd be going back to the iphone after a day or so haha.

It depends though if the keyboard is important to you stick with the bb. I genuinely miss that keyboard now

That and expect a lot of your friends going: "WTF YOU'RE NOT ON BBM ANYMORE!?!?! >:O"

N8>all not only is it cheaper its feature rich

but to the OPs question id keep the berry over getting an ip4

and to your problem you can explain to them that the speakers usability is intermittent
(prolly some loose wires)

Exactly. Kind of repels me from Apple products. But the display is so sexy.

Is that a Window's Phone? Or an Android?

I did explain that to them. They still told me to return the new phone in case they find nothing wrong with my old phone.

Yeah, that seems like the smart thing to do. Question is, am I smart?

Keyboard was one of the deciding factors when I got the 9700 in March. But right now I surf the net more than I am on BBM. I think you'll go back to the i4 as well

But that means you have to jail break it right? I believe that voids the warranty on it as well.

Yeah, the Bold is good at being a phone. I don't know, I guess I just like shiny new things.
