Do it, see what people say. Gonna be pretty silly as it's not gonna really glow until you get away from all the lights.

Saw these vinyls on grafixpression when I was looking at some stickers
I think it's a pretty neat idea, wouldn't do it to my own car though haha

the pasty white colour when the lights are on looks pretty shitty, but when its off its not bad

Benz_05TSX 12-07-2010 08:26 PM

Honestly... I think it looks like someone jizz all over the car when it's white.... JIZZ WHITE

I don't see why it would be illegal.. but it could be illegal just by the fact that it would be distracting at night for drivers, just like undergrlow neon.

InvisibleSoul 12-07-2010 08:38 PM

I would be surprised if the laws or regulations prohibit this... depends on how they're worded. If it's something like you're not allowed to add "light emitting devices" to your vehicle, this is a gray area. The glow in the dark material is emitting light, but it's not a device.

Anyways, it's all a moot point though... you're not going to have the glowing effect for very long... and for the most part, it won't work. It'll store the light during the day, but when dusk falls, it starts losing the glow... so by the time it's actually dark, the glow will probably already be gone...

You'd have to live where there are no street lights whatsoever. It would be parked in your garage, door closed, with the lights shining on it for a long time before you took it out. Oh, and it would have to be a moonless night as well.

RevYouUp 12-07-2010 08:43 PM

I wanted to put a strip on the lip of my rims for this summer. So tempting.

The laws are worded that you cannot have light other than white/amber to the front, amber/red to the read.

Have you seen the transit buses with lighted signs on the side? I would have thought these would be illegal since underglow is.

Cman333 12-08-2010 10:54 AM

Someone should wrap their car in that red reflective material....
