Given the way Dany and Jon were looking at each other on the boat, Jon is going to be riding at least one dragon before the season ends

If the ice king dies though doesn't everything he turned die as well? Seemed to be the message last week.. perhaps he rides it before or while he kills the king. That would be awesome.

My theory is that Dany is going to die at the end of the next season, with Jon ultimately crowned King of the Seven Kingdoms. He's the one that never wanting the job in the first place, therefore most fit to be the one actually holding the position.

When people say a show is predictable, it doesn't mean they predict literally every single thing that happens. It was super predictable though - you know they were going to run into the army, you know they were going to be surrounded, you know one of the main characters was going to die, you know they would send a message to Dany and she would rescue them, and you know that would convince her to focus on fighting the NK.

That was extremely easy to predict, and if you really thought about it, you have to assume she would lose one of her dragons (after all there's really no reason for 3 of them other than for one to die as a plot device)

I think if anything it's Jon who dies at the end of the series. Last episode the writers drilled it into our ears that Dany needs a successor if she wants to rule but can't have kids. Even when Dany said to Jon "you understand that?" referring to her barren womb, you can see Jon looking at it thinking "I'm going to fix that for you".

The song of ice and fire will likely be the reboot of a Targaryen dynasty with Dany having Jon's triplets

But Tyrion also said that there are other ways to choose a successor.

I was reading about Azor Ahai and Lightbringer and how he had to plunge it into his wife's heart to unleash it's power. If Jon is The Prince That Was Promised, I imagine he might have to do something similar with Danny if they are truly in love? Azor Ahai | Game of Thrones Wiki | FANDOM powered by Wikia

Would Danny even be able to stay alive for 9 months bearing the child? I also wonder how much time passed in Season 7, everything seems to be happening in a shorter time span.

Yes, for 2 reasons.

#1 During the promo for GOT back in March ish one of the posters released for Season 7 showed an ice dragon. That lead me to believe one of the 3 dragons were going to get it and be turned and going into last nights episode was the logical place for it to happen.

#2 With 3 dragons on their side it almost seems unfair so I've always thought they would even it up a bit.

Funny that you should mention that

"Game of Thrones" Director Breaks Down Timeline in "Beyond the Wall" | Variety

Alan Taylor, who directed the last episode also mentioned how they're straining plausibility now.

Quote:

“We were aware that timing was getting a little hazy,” Taylor told Variety. “We’ve got Gendry running back, ravens flying a certain distance, dragons having to fly back a certain distance…In terms of the emotional experience, [Jon and company] sort of spent one dark night on the island in terms of storytelling moments. We tried to hedge it a little bit with the eternal twilight up there north of The Wall. I think there was some effort to fudge the timeline a little bit by not declaring exactly how long we were there. I think that worked for some people, for other people it didn’t. They seemed to be very concerned about how fast a raven can fly but there’s a thing called plausible impossibilities, which is what you try to achieve, rather than impossible plausibilities. So I think we were straining plausibility a little bit, but I hope the story’s momentum carries over some of that stuff.”

This season to me is far better than that high sparrow bullshit. I've watched the show twice over now, and still get bored when that storyline is playing out.

At least they were willing to admit it, because it honestly jarred me quite a bit since all the previous episodes were set in a pace to show the vastness of the seven kingdoms

Every time I see this thread get bumped, I hoped for a leak. :high:

need more Dany tits too....

iwantaskyline 08-24-2017 08:19 AM

Jon aint riding the ice dragon...if we see him on any dragon its the one named after his dad. Rhaegal.

Oh and I expect the writing to stay shitty. Previously D&D had blueprints from GRRM but now they got nothing but a few key plot points that he told them and obviously the ending.

blkgsr 08-24-2017 10:12 AM

all i want to know is when does Jon find out who he really is

I doubt they'll slip it in for the finale. Bran knows pieces, and Gilly dropped that bomb to Sam who wasn't listening a few episodes back. My guess is that one of those two hash it out 100% in the next episode. Once that happens, Jon will find out in his next interaction with either of them.

With Jon in KL for the majority of next episode I doubt he'll interact with either Sam (since he just left Oldtown) or Bran back at WF, so my guess is he finds out S08E01 or soon after.

With the way Dany was looking at Jon I'm fully expecting them to bone soon.

blkgsr 08-24-2017 12:56 PM

i doubt it...she was showing them off early in the show before she became famous....it became less and less as the show got further on

unless i'm wrong...when's the last time she whipped them out?

Apparently she had a clause in her contract saying no more needless titties but I recall her showing them last season.

Berz out.
