I'm beyond pumped just because of Cleagenbowl!!! It lived up to the hype for sure! Hound fucked Sir Gregor up right good!!!!

SkinnyPupp 05-13-2019 12:29 AM

Yeah that was one of the great parts of the episode, and one of the few perfect endings to a really long character arc SeemsGood

bobbinka 05-13-2019 01:57 AM

If one dragon was enough to take out the entire fleet and all the giant crossbows in the entire city.... why didnt she just do that last time and kill Euron to begin with?

And what was the point of Euron's character? He magically showed up, built some boats, shot a few arrows, and died. They could have easily gotten by in the story without him at all. All they had to do was say that the golden company also supplied the ships and put another character on one of the ships to shoot the dragon.

hold up, why did he have to fight Jaime?

:fulloffuck:

Varys got executed for simply telling Jon that he'd be a good king. she might as well have just killed everyone who already knew the secret. also, it's a little dumb of the spymaster to be sticking around when he no longer supports her (and Tyrion already knows his stance). And even dumber to be trying to stir shit up right before the battle against Cersei. What the hell would have happened if Jon said he wanted the throne... not like he'd win against Dany or Cersei by himself. This issue would make way more sense to leave until after the battle.

Did Dany's army get a new supply of Dothraki and Unsullied? It was decimated after Winterfell and Euron's surprise.

:suspicious:

though I only really share the feelings about 8

the cleaganebowl was nice, everything else was ehh..

I don't get why they don't just make the show 9 seasons? or even 10? since their ideas suck, why not draw it out, give whatshisface time to write the story … bleh

season 8 feels like how your typical TVB drama plays out..it starts off good, maybe even great, but once its nearing episode 20, it just falls apart

also lol

Production cost is the main factor for why they couldn't extend this show into more seasons. Hell, they even reduced it from the normal 10 episodes to 8, remember?

68style 05-13-2019 07:33 AM

I ain't gonna spend time complaining or over-analyzing... it's all over, just going to enjoy it for what it is. What other show can I watch a dragon lay waste to a city? Did I ever think in the beginning of this show that I would ever see the entirety of King's Landing/Red Keep on fire? Nope... what a spectacle. Do I entirely agree with how we got to that point from a storytelling perspective? Nope... but I had my marshmallows out anyway.

When the mountains helmet came off, I was like is that Varys? Lol

Waited two years for the final season and we end up with the worst script and story telling ever. Dany went straight Mad Queen in one minute. The kid who killed Jon Snow had 3 episodes to build up onto why he wanted to do it.

I applaud the actors who did the best they could with this shit of a script.

Hondaracer 05-13-2019 08:41 AM

Lol

Dany going nuts and laying the city to waste was pretty fucking dope though. Loved seeing those street urchins burn :chairdance:

I’ve been watching this season really not thinking about previous seasons, history etc so I didn’t even really think of the mad king line and how Dany would inevitably turn into the mad queen so it made it that much better to come as a bit of a surprise to me

snowball 05-13-2019 09:15 AM

She didnt go mad enough for me, i wanted her eyes to glow purple! I think this is the first time this season they gave us some old school GoT instead of fan service when dany started roasting everything. The actors and directors have done an amazing job this season, sad the story wasn't as strong

So many people seem surprised by Dany, maybe it's just because I dislike her but it seemed like she'd been building to this point for ages.

I thought they were offered more episodes to wrap it up better but turned it down? A quick search says the show costs around $6M/episode but the show brings in at least $500M/season. It should be more profitable now than ever so I'd have a hard time believing cost was a factor.

SkinnyPupp 05-13-2019 10:05 AM

Her "build" went from "she's making some rash decisions, and people don't trust her in the North"

to... This...

68style 05-13-2019 10:09 AM

She didn't *have* to burn up the Tarly's either... she's been prone to personal anger consuming logic before

On another note... Episode 5's Starbucksgate is Jamie's hand re-appearing haha... apparently just a promo photo for the episode, not from the show footage itself though:

spoon.ek9 05-13-2019 10:17 AM

she's burned down something/someone in every single season. shouldn't be a huge surprise lol.

Hondaracer 05-13-2019 10:19 AM

I dunno wtf he was trying to do when he unveiled his golden hand and tried to use that as leverage to get into the red keep? That was weird

Sir_Loin 05-13-2019 10:20 AM

That Tyrion and Jaime scene, personally hit me hard.

Cuz one of the guards would recognize him...

Don't forget too that Dany's family owned Kings Landing before... in one generation all the people there forgot completely about the Targaryens??? Fuck em! Burn em all! haha

Peter Dinklage is such a great actor... the way his voice broke talking about himself as a child

But she's been burning people or things since the beginning. Fire and blood is what she always speak of.

It's only Tyrion who told her that you need to win the heart of the people and not march in.

I think Tyrion is going to die. I feel that Dany doesn't trust him anymore and has cost her too much.

The moment she landed on dragonstone.

Tyrion's battleplan was all blown to shit. Euron took the sand people, casterly rock was a fail. Basically all her allies died in one shot.

Tyrion told her to trust Jon Snow. She fell in love and risked her armies against the dead losing half her army and Jorah.

Marched down right away and lost Messandei.

This along with the betrayal shit with Varys.

SkinnyPupp 05-13-2019 06:20 PM

Burning traitors is one thing. Burning 10's of thousand of innocent people is about 500 steps of madness beyond that. We didn't get 500 steps of build, we got one. Actually none, because she already won the battle and did it anyway. There was literally no reason to do what she did, and nothing to instigate it. She was sitting there, after having won the war, then did it.

DragonChi 05-13-2019 06:24 PM

Good god, ending the series at this point would be a good thing. Everything feels rushed as hell.
