heard a ton of talk about this show and only until recently did I decide to start watching it. lol shits awesome. finished first 2 seasons in like 3 days and I feel like rewatching them already... I want to read the books too but I know I'm not much of a reader (at all) and they're all at least 600 pages each.

hmm, guess it's not everyone's cup of tea.
Heard great reviews about this show and watched the first episode but didn't pull me in.

Felt like I was watching softcore porn at times, plot was difficult to follow, too many characters and I didn't know the significance of them, etc.

I know I'm drawing to a quick conclusion based on only one episode.
But if the Pilot didn't excite me... not sure what to think then.
I literally cringed and forced myself to finish the episode, only so I can say, I gave it a try.

Maybe you guys can spoil and tell me when the show starts getting interesting, cause maybe it's just one of those series with a slow start.

I have the same thoughts. After reading the first few books, I can't get into the pacing of the show. I can't image how they fit the first book into what is it.. 8 episodes? I feel so underwhelmed with what's going on. I only watched the first episode too, trying to get through the second one.

Of course. Book = unlimited budget + airtime in the theatre of the mind.

Honestly, I couldn't imagine fully enjoying the show without ever reading the books.

I just watched the first 2 seasons in 3 days. I'm trying to catch up to the posts in this thread, but the spoiler tags are so annoying to click. I wish there was button to press that opened all of them.

Bronn is one of my favorite characters on the show. The battle at King's Landing probably would've traumatized me if I had seen it when I was a kid. :badpokerface:

Luckily for me, I'm older and colder than I used to be, so I can almost appreciate seeing all the heads being flattened by rocks and skull caps getting chopped off.

Can't wait for S3.

The books are like 1600 pages each. Do you read the books for Dexter, True Blood, and Boardwalk Empire? No? Then who cares.

No, those other books are not good.

If you don't like reading that's fine, but you do miss out on most of the story.

I did but it was only like 200 pages into it :okay:
