Oh I'm all up for that, but it's done so realistically you know? Not your typical Hollywood story line where the good guys always win. It was done to perfection. Loved it. There's so much dynamic character development for everyone, not static alliances and personalities.
I totally agree. I love these unpredictable shows that don't follow the standard ways.
The logical side to me loves what happened. The emotional side has been broken and fallen into darkness with little hope of returning.

Fuck this show man, like Hibiki said, why can't the good guys win sometimes?
All of a sudden, Frey and Bolton show up on the show and they're so powerful and badass? Horrible fucking writing.

The Frey's had enough men to help the Starks change the outcome of the war, hence why Rob was there.
Storm of Swords book spoiler (and an partial explanation for episode 9)
Spoiler!
Tywin promised Roose Bolton the title of Warden of the North if he took care of Robb Stark and the rest of his army. Bolton and the Freys teamed up in order to do so.

Season 3 only made it through the first half of Book 3 (A Storm of Swords). There's plenty more of wtf moments to come for next season.
I don't really care for Robb Stark, but just think about Catelyn. She lost her husband Ned, thinks that Arya, Bran, and Rickon are dead, and her Sansa was married off.
Spoiler!
She has reasons to want revenge.
*A Storm of Swords spoilers*
Spoiler!
I wonder if they're going to bring her back like they did in the book. I'm really hoping to see her appear at the end of episode 10 with her face half decomposed in the water and freak the hell out of the viewers again...

Reason: ALL BOOK SPOILERS MUST BE LABELED - WITH THE BOOK THAT IS SPOILED. Come on!
I totally appreciate it. But how can u not be upset? Bad things happening to good people. We were cheering for the Starks to obtain vengeance since Ned got his head cut off and those hopes are out the window. We were also hoping to see the family get back together again. That long and tough trek that arya went through to get back to her family. Ever so close and BAM. NO LITTLE GIRL NO FAMILY FOR YOU. Posted via RS Mobile
This is the theme of the series I think.
In a way, I am glad that Ned Stark died.
It's the game of thrones, you win or you die. The theme is dark.. it's not pretty, but it's also realistic. (Bad things have to happen in order to 'win', and real life is not all fun and games.)
That being said, this Red Wedding was just.. crazy. Epic TV.
god damn episode. i literally stared at the credits rolled and stared at the screen after the credits finish rolling, trying to comprehend wtf just happened.

This was way worse than Ned Stark dying. His death was needed to get the show rolling but this...this is just unnecessary cruelty. Poor Cat and Robb has suffered enough! The Stark family are good people dammit!!
The more cruelty in this world makes for a better show of course but it's just such a grim feeling knowing that good people can't prevail and that there is so few of them left now.
Reminds me of that comic book, Wanted where it's about a world run by Super Villains. Sure it was a good read and idea but I don't like the idea that there is no hope for good to overcome evil.
Hearing the Rains of Castamere is gonna be haunting.

Hahahhahaa, the reactions all over Facebook and twitter are hilarious.
And you guys too are like omgwtf.
I've been waiting for this ep to come out forever and wanted to see everybody lose their shit.
Mild Book 3 Spoilers
Spoiler!
George R.R. Martin is done killing off characters.
Holy shit. That was the most intense television I have watched in a long time.
I was pretty choked.
Just curious for those who read the book, were you just as choked reading it as it seems like everyone who saw it was?
I listened on audiobook. I damned near cried. It's such a shocking moment and the brutality of it is...detailed. Keep in mind there are way more characters in the book and wow, some of those deaths are graphic.

Actually, what was shown could have be sooooo much more brutal.
According to Book 3
Spoiler!
Rob and Grey Wind both get decapitated, and Grey Wind's head is sewn onto rob's body and it is paraded around.
The massacre really isn't described in detail in terms of a step-by-step, but my mind imagined the worst case scenario, that Catelyn was forced to watch this happen before she was killed.
Do you think the reason it wasn't shown like that was because it was too graphic?
The way the red wedding developed in the book was much more enjoyable and wayyy more of a WTF moment as you read it because the way it happened was so subtle but so well written as I read it I was like wow wow wow...hold on a sec go back and read it and my eyes were just wide like WTF!!!
