To be fair it was quite empty in the books, but not THIS empty. Probably more like what they showed when Tyrion was there in season 1.

The following isn't really a spoiler, but tells how the books are different:

Spoiler!

I havn't read the books, and I talk about some the differences between the books and the movie ** up to the point of where the TV shows are at** with my friends as to see what has changed.

I can understand and agree with what HBO is doing. It seems like in the book they have way more characters and more scenes that are not shown in the movies.

I think with the way the show works, they just dont have enough time/money to show all these scenes as well as cast more characters, some of which may deter a lot of audience members as theres already a lot of side plots to begin with. It can get confusing for the non-hardcore fans.

Also I like how HBO cuts out a lot of the unnecessary gore and sadistic scenes that the book has just for the sake of being gory and not really adding vlaue. I like how they imply a lot of the "painful" scenes instead of showing it to us. This is good for me b/c my girlfriend also watches the show.

Again, I havnt read the books and am just relying on what my friends are telling me from the books.

I get that they have to make a lot of changes, and like I said, many of them are fine. Some of them are pretty lame though, particularly the Eerie being empty, and the whole Theon Greyjoy thing. What he goes through is SO much crazier in the books, and that's all I'll say :)

I am only bringing up things that I think would make the show much better, not necessarily complaining about it not being accurate enough. I don't care how accurate it is to the books, except for when things are significantly worse. The Danaerys storyline is pretty much a kindergarten version of the books, but if they tried to be 100% accurate each episode would be 2 hours longer :lawl:

I just hate how there is good stuff that they are cutting out, yet making time to add in this random filler.

rsx 06-01-2014 10:36 PM

that arc with grey worm is so annoyingly dumb

iEatClams 06-01-2014 10:36 PM

the one thing im starting to hate about the show is how they always lead us on with all these possible stark reunions, but it never happens. like the many possible jon snow and bran reunions, and the sansa and arya possible reunions.
