badass how the iron bank army just strolls in and kicks hard ass. i wonder how the books portray the strengths of the regions' armies because in my head right now (from watching the show) it seems like they rank:

1) unsullied
2) iron bank?
3) northerners
4) lannisters
5) fancy deers of high garden

Deers are baratheon

m3thods 06-18-2014 01:59 PM

^That would be correct. Highgarden armies would be an army of roses?

I have a feeling Bran might be able to control the rogue Dragon.

Berzerker 06-18-2014 02:21 PM

This is merely speculation as I haven't read past where the show is at but I'll spoiler it just in case.
Spoiler!

When Stannis appeared, I got super excited. He's such a badass! He's definitely one of my favourite characters right now.

I think he can only worg into creatures that are simple minded. Maybe Drogo isn't the smartest dragon and that's why hes difficult to control. Would probably make a great target to worg into.

I feel like the whole Daeny story is a waste and who knows if the dragons will ever play a part out west..... No dragon wording I recon. :(

The direwolves are highly intelligent creatures, definitely not simple minded so that sort of destroys that theory. I'd love to see Bran use his warg abilities on one of the dragons, but I guess we'll have to wait a few years to see :lol

There's also a very big key to this speculation. Spoiler warning, maybe you haven't read this far in the books, I've just read it on a wiki page:

Spoiler!

Unrelated: Comicbookgirl19 released her recap of Episode 10.

I completely agree on how she analyses the changes in the Arya/Hound and Tyrion/Shae relationships from book to TV. The TV writers really fucked both of those up. It was great that they wanted to have a different take on these relationships, but if you do that, you can't have the same relationship conclusions from the books that contradict the bonds you built in the TV show.

The TV writers also need to do a better job of keeping characters in the mix and not let them be forgotten. The pacing may work in the books, but casual TV viewers forget stuff like Qyburn and his story (the guy treating the mortally wounded Gregor Clegane, first introduced ages ago and barely mentioned since), and Stannis (a lot of viewers being confused on why he showed up at the Wall).

I was really disappointed they had to leave him out. He was my favourite part of that book.

Stannis actually never visits the Iron Bank in the books. They go to him much later on when he is already in the North. I have no idea why the show changed that.
