maybe if they start killing the faith militant, that would only inspire more of the poor to join their cause. in the citizen's eyes, the high sparrow gives them what they want (shaming cersei, soup kitchens n shit, etc).

I hope/dream/wish that Bran gains the power to control the dragons

yo bran's a man now, anyone else find that weird?

SkinnyPupp 05-03-2016 09:19 AM

Yup same thing happened when Sansa was suddenly 7 feet tall and Aria had boobs all of a sudden WutFace

It's weird because unlike with Harry Potter, the characters didn't age, but the actors did.

Good question. I'm guessing from the speech the High Sparrow gave to Jamie that the Faith Militant are a much larger group than we believe, large enough to threaten the Kings Guard, Lannister soldiers, and City Watch. He mentioned how they all thought they were poor and worth nothing, but formed together they became powerful.

Faith Militant appeals to all the commoners in King's Landing. IRC, religion is a pretty big thing there, so by going back on your word or killing them off, you'd end up turning the entire city against you. Yeah, you have guards, but it'll be like the Sons of Harpys all over again.

This season is so predictable it's hilariously sad and boring.

This is going to end up surpassing Martin's books very soon, and the writers won't be as good of a writer as him.

Matsuda 05-05-2016 08:39 PM

i think its already surpassed the books hasn't it?

Inaii 05-05-2016 08:48 PM

There's only a couple chapters of book 6 out, so I think so.

Everything in this season is already surpassed the books.

^ +1 my colleague mentioned this when I told him about this season's first episode (he hasn't watched the show yet).

Here is a SNL spoof of last weekend's ending (spoiler):

Spoiler!

dat_steve 05-08-2016 10:31 PM

wow, never thought we'd ever see rickon again

I thought, judging by the episode's title, brianne or sansa was going to die this episode.

jlo mein 05-09-2016 10:47 AM

Can anyone better explain yesterday's scene with King Tommen and the High Sparrow? Not quite sure what the writers were conveying there.

Also re: Tower Of Joy...what a cop out. I can see them stretching this suspense out for multiple seasons if they wanted to. Urgh.

Maybe Tommen is going to start being a pious king, rather than be influenced by Cersei?

It didn't happen in the episode (happened prior) but the 4 brothers executed killed their LC. That's an oath broken.

But otherwise yeah you're right- no other oaths were actually broken in the episode proper that I know of.

Berzerker 05-10-2016 09:46 AM

No wonder Ned always seemed so grim. He didn't actually kill Sir Arthur in proper combat but the legends say he did. He's got secrets that guy does. This also explains why Howland Reed goes back to the frog people and never comes out again. He either is living with his "shame" of what he did or overly protective of Meera whom he rescues with the tower.

What if.... Dany gets killed and Tyrion, Meera, and Jon ride dragons?

So many questions!

Berz out.
