Liked this ep, especially with Lady Mormont and Clegane. Also rare to see Tormund have a good speech. I do agree that it was too slow for a 7th ep of a 10 ep season. We're likely to once again have all the good stuff mashed into ep 9 at a breakneck pace.
Pretty disappointed about all these news reports that season 7 will only be 7 episodes, with season 8 planned to be the final with 6 episodes. They've really stretched out the earlier seasons and now we're going to have all the big story payoffs likely be rushed. I can't see them having much time to properly flesh out the Danny in Mereen plot, anything to do with Dorne, Bran becoming the Raven, Arya's revenge, LSH, all these good things that deserve time.
They could cut out Dany's entire Mereen plot and I could care less
Exactly. I was holding out hope that there's a reason they kept her in Mereen so long doing nothing, instead of just keeping her chracter in there while all the other show plots moved along. If her entire time in Mereen is just to hammer home how she's a conqueror and not a ruler, then it was an incredible waste.
The city of Quarth had to be one of the biggest wastes of show time on GoT, and Mereen looks like it will be similar.
I think one of the 3 from the brotherhood recognized the hound, reported that back and was told to slaughter them all.
why?
cause LADY STONE HEART in season finale
calling it now
Brah, you clearly didn't read my spoiler post from the previous page
Spoiler!
If Jaime and Brienne meet next episode then that leaves the episode 10 description of "Brienne meets a friend turned foe" to point in one big direction...
they just need to keep showing missandei but dammit bring back her outfits showing dat cleavage tho
I'm disappointed they seem to have given up on the Missandrei and Greyworm plotline. It had some interesting dynamics that could have given more character to the Unsullied and slaves.
Did you guys forget about this scene already??
...
It was worth it.
I sometimes feel like I'm the only one who thinks she's nothing special. She's obviously pretty, I'm not saying she's not, I just wouldn't tune into something just for her.

Reason: didn't need picture quoted.
My question is, The Mountain was supposed to be dead as per a contract with Dorne as payment for The Mountain killing the babies correct? If he lives, and it's proven to be him, (they were keeping it a secret for awhile but now it seems the cat is out of the bag) will this have consequences? Maybe he won't be allowed to fight because of this and Cercie will have to choose Jamie instead or a popular thought because of the books
Spoiler!
Sandor Cleagan aka The Hound is chilling on an religious island. Perhaps he found the light of the 7 and will be the champion chosen by the faith to fight! In book one Bran has a prophetic vision of Sandor and Jaime, and looming over them is a giant made of stone with a helm filled with nothing but black blood.
I was wondering why she didn't do the warg thing into Nymeria while she was blind like the books. I found her recklessness oddly out of character. She was quite liberal with herself and not hiding like she should have been. There is one theory that the Waif is her alternate personality. I don't really subscribe to this theory though. I think she might have been actually hurt and will stagger along until she gets rescued by the lady from the Actors troop. While there she may go into a coma and in that coma she will start her wolf dreams and Warg abilities. This would pave the way for Lady Stoneheart entrance to the show which with Jamie and Brienne together at Blackfish is a very real possibility.
Seriously, if I was Arya I'd be paranoid as fuck about anyone approaching me, that old hag would have gotten knifed in the throat before she even got a word out.

Berz out.
Spoiler!
The books are way more nuanced than the show.
Aside from that 1 wildling way back in season 3(?),
I don't think anybody else but Bran and the Raven have shown warging abilities.
In the books, it seems like all the Starks are wargs.

Remember the play? The the blood bag?
I think maybe... just maybe Arya is doing the same and laying a trap for the waif.
Arya clearly can't beat the waif in a head-on fight.
But maybe on her own turf, with Needle in hand, she'll be able to use surprise to her advantage.
That might explain why she was being so bold and acting very brash and out of character.
also
If Arya gets a pussy off-screen-Stannis-death, people will riot.
How do you fake getting stabbed though, I feel like the waif would know whether she's stabbing actual flesh or something else. Besides, what if the waif decided to slit her throat instead of stabbing her stomach?
i think it was a setup by arya to get the waif off her case OR it was Jaqen himself faced up as Arya (although she didn't die, so not sure how he'd get her face) because you'll notice she didn't have Needle on her when the waif attacked. my prediction: jaqen finds out Waif didn't grant a suffering-free death, and when waif comes in for the kill, he saves Arya.

Maybe I'm just reading too far into it now lol
The dagger was also the length of a forearm, so you can't really fake getting stabbed by such a long blade
So if your theory is correct, Arya is going to pour a laxative in the waifs drink and she'll be easy pickings while she's married to the shitter, on date night no less!

Meera's brother could Warg. He taught Bran but you are right the books had way more.
When are going go see the fucking end to the Tower of Joy scene? Season Finale? That would be an epic dick move lol
