Yeah because we don't have to subject ourselves to staring at that pre-pubescent boy on screen.
It is this kind of thinking that shows just how whack our society is. Actresses are all expected to look like playboy centrefolds. The rank and file no longer has the ability to recognize other forms of beauty besides the archetypes touted by mass media. Competence and passion in the arts are subjugated to crass aesthetics.
I stand by my original remark, I think Keira is stunningly beautiful and a very talented performer and her presence will be sorely missed.

If you like anorexic stick girls then good for you but like the rest of the male population I prefer my woman to at least look like they've hit puberty.
First and foremost....Orlando Bloom is a PUSSY.
And Keira...and much as I like her, she went from America's (although shes british) Top Model to the Cryptkeeper from the first to 3rd movies.
Depp
Rush
Penelope Cruz
Judi Dench
and Ian McShane as Blackbeard right there is an awesome change of roles.
Sure, don't know if the movie is good...but nothing to be complaining about in the casting.
I never realized how much I enjoy Johnny Depp's performances until I watched the first of the Pirates series. He really is perfect for the role of a mischievous but intelligent pirate. Lots of fun to watch and although the series is getting a bit farfetched, I will definitely go see it as they are just tons of fun to watch.

Went to the Midnight Imax showing.... the Film snapped about halfway through -_-
the theatre gave us free passes but a group, including us, weren't satisfied so we got a refund as well
most of the other people were fine with a free pass and they ran into a regular theatre to watch the rest of the film but so much time had passed that we weren't interested in watching the rest of the film
I'm not sure if it was because the film was having issues... but the 3D was horrible before the snap.. it was actually ruining the movie for me and I was getting mad and then boom the snap
it almost felt like i was watching a movie through some crappy binoculars
The film snapped just after
Spoiler!
the mutiny on Blackbeards ship and he sent the cook out on the long boat; to which i assume he was going to shoot it
So from what I did see of the movie... it didn't feel as spectacular as the other 3 its almost as if they hired a whole new creative team who are really 2nd tier in comparison
The movie wasn't horrible but it felt very lacking and it seemed like they threw in needless action sequences just to use the theme song
I dont know how much the crappy 3D ruined the vibe of the movie for me (i imagine quite a bit) but I'm not interested in watching the film again until its out on Blu
and btw the Midnight showing had far far less people than Fast Five did (didnt go to Thors midnight) movie overload maybe?

To be honest I though Pirates 3 have a good ending to do it. To just milking it will ruin it I think. Just like what SAW did. It got boring and not as good as before.

I saw this with the SO yesterday. She really enjoyed it. Some things could have been explained more, like Blackbeard's origins and powers, and it felt like there wasn't enough time to do jam everything in, in the allotted time. Honestly, Jack Sparrow's comic relief is starting to get old. I give this sequel a 6/10.
Spoiler!
The ending with Blackbeard and Angelica drinking out of the chalices, reminded me of the end of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
