^ yup, that movie is next on my list; i was told the middle part was boring (esp. character development) but it's one of the few Korean movies with solid space theme done ever...
Some say the movie was worthy of a B rated space film to Hollywood.
Just watched The Dig. Again, kept being recommended to me.
I had very tentative about it, didn't really know what it was about aside from the trailer suggesting it being a slower burn.
I walked away quite impressed with it. Not much happens, but also a lot happens if that makes sense at all. Also very interesting plot line that revolves around the pain of WWII, without being an actual war movie. 7.5/10
Part of that is because I watch all the races and read all the news religiously during the season so the events in D2S is all old news. I'd like a bit more of the off-track stuff, that's what I find most interesting.
Had an argument with a buddy of mine recently about CGI.
I'm a practical effects guy, if the movie is all CGI, I zone out and feel like I'm watching a cartoon, the actors in a CGI movie feel like there's no real consequence.
Practical effects leave a more visceral effect of realism, giving me way more engagement.
My buddy is somewhat daft, and loves CGI popcorn movies, so he disagreed
just like how Jurassic Park's visual effects felt more real because they didn't fully relie on cgi and it was more real-life animatronic puppets with lighting effects.
i always felt the latest Jurassic world movies were fucking trash because of that, not only that but whole Good & Bad dinosaur story telling while these were wild animals as anything.
I feel the same way, I watch movies with crazy CGI and my eyes glaze over... in fact... I basically fall asleep. Nothing to connect to.
I have a hard time with animated movies too unless I prep myself going in... somehow I just can't feel zoned in on the characters when they're not real people no matter how good they get at capturing all of people's little intricacies and movements.

Agreed. In some way, having all teams participate seems to have diluted some of the behind the scenes stories. Season 1 was still the best.

Not sure how much freedom Netflix had, but so many ways they could've taken that story line. Mercedes/Toto might have tried to make them downplay it or have Russel cooperate, who knows. Opportunity loss.
Or you meet some girl at the club, cum inside of her, find out shes only in grade 12, so you buy a Prada bag for her to make things right, she finds out the bag is a fake and decides to have the kid

Watched ep 1 of Invincible (amazon) with the kids. Animated series made by the walking dead creator Kirkman.
Has definite parallels to Justice league and even has some great development for the main character...
Then BOOM surprise mothafuker!
Not trying to spoil it but geezus fuck.
Not sure how the next episodes will be like but prolly gonna let the youngest skip it. (they just turned 7)
My oldest 13 had a "what the fuck" moment which turned into what the fick when I looked over at him.
So far 8/10. (I never read the comic so didn't expect it, but young kids should skip this one)
I know this technically isn't Netflix, but hopefully any 'streaming' service type stuff can go here.
Warrior just got renewed for Season 3 on HBO max. I can't even describe how excited I am to see it will continue!
For those who don't know the show, it is 'based' on the writings of Bruce Lee. With his daughter and Justin Lin part of the production.
Fight scenes and characters are great, overall story is pretty good. Pretty much love everything about the show. Bought season 1 and 2 on youtube and watched both seasons 3 times in 2 months o___o

Speaking of HBO I've been watching the Q Anon documentary, and it's fascinating to say the least
