Good action flick with an intense tempo. Plot is thin but not non-existent as some critics have claimed, and I'd say the lack of a good plot never got in the way of me enjoying the show and the action anyway.
The CGI & SFX are supposed to be the highlight of the film, and they do not disappoint. To my untrained eye, they are every bit as good as the best of what Hollywood has to offer, bearing in mind that the movie is about a gloomy and gritty post-apocalyptic world, instead of something beautiful and pristine.

Been waiting for this movie for a few years since the trailer dropped. Man I love me a Hong Kong flick it's so far and few between now and yes I know even a lot of "Hong Kong" films might have China involved now but you get my point. For me it doesn't take a lot for me to enjoy a good old Canto movie because again it's like so rare now and yea the movies plot is thin but I still enjoyed it for what it was. CGI is usually laughable but it's actually pretty damn good!

1) Louis spent a lot of money on this.
2) wanted to really put HK on the map that "we can do the same as hollywood"
so many running jokes on this movie.
3) "is this movie even real? It's been 3 years in production (eg/ Avatar 2)
4) I thought the character development was soooooo weak but heck, it's a honger movie.
5) 劉嘉玲 is really from china, (not local HK) as I really picked up on her accent. man her botox was crazy
6)
no idea why Nick Cheung insisted in getting special makeup for his nose; it was to look a lot more like a general... wth.
8)
why the dread locks, and why the eye patch, maybe I missed it?
I understand what the movie was trying to do, didn't waste time on getting into the plot, but thought it could have been a bit developed. HK did come a long way to get this made so no doubt it was decent in my eyes.
Tough it was a decent play on leveraging iron man and then the thrusters in jumping up onbuildings and walls.
I thought the district director (Nick Cheung) was poorly cast / poorly acted. Firstly, I thought the Professor X imitation did not go well at all. Secondly, I thought Nick Cheung did not carry enough presence to pull the role off. It just wasn't convincing enough to me that he was the bada$$ director.

Even though with Chinese movies I give a free pass to many things purely because it's rare to enjoy a fully canto movie now this was the one thing that bugged me. Nick Cheung is a legit actor and he was pretty fucking lame in this movie to the point I couldn't stand any scene with him in it.

Agree with most of the comments above. I just saw this a few nights ago and like everyone, I enjoy a good HK movie. But this one left a bit to be desired with the cast. Nick Cheung's role was a throw away/waste. He could have really elevated this movie in a different role. Story line for me was a bit weak, but in the end, it's just entertainment to showcase capabilities and then some.

Watched it over 2 evenings. I enjoyed it. The mystery and suspense were well handled.
I'd describe this movie in thirds. The first third felt scattered all over the place, and it made me wonder WTH was going on. But then the second third came -- the mystery really started to unravel, and the different pieces were all coming together. I found this to be the best part of the movie. By the time I got to the last third, I pretty much knew where the general direction of things were gonna go, and it became a matter of watching how the director was gonna deliver the ending.
Fucking Netflix gonna Netflix. I am astounded at how many bad movies these guys make, who the fuck are their writers?! I can't think of a Netflix movie I've actually enjoyed here, I don't understand how this movie was getting positive reviews?
This movie was awful, stupid and predictable plot, ham-fisted and silly acting, bad casting as well. I didn't buy it for a second that this group of people would be actual friends with each other, it was really odd. The third half of the movie was utter 2022 style garbage, the entire movie turned into a complete joke.
Lol Rian Johnson wrote Glass Onion, he's not a nobody. He wrote & directed Star Wars Last Jedi, Rogue One, and Looper.

It was a decent movie. The cast and having it all come together is pretty legit. You can't see movies like this coming into harmony that easily.
Love to see what other murder mystery out there that's similar in caliber as this.
Has anyone watched Kaleidoscope? I haven't watched it yet but I just know it's a Heist series staring Giancarlo Esposito.
The structure of the show is that only the 8th (final) episode should be watched at the end, but the other 7 episodes can be watched in any order as each episodes take place at different time frames so they're like a piece of puzzle that build up to the full story.
I believe Netflix even randomizes the episode order for different accounts, besides the 8th episode always being the last one. So everyone should see a different order on their Netflix. Kind of an intriguing setup.
