Has anyone watched the Twisted Metal series yet? I had to download it cause I'm not even sure who's streaming it in Canada, but it turned out to be way better than I thought it would be. Nice 90s soundtrack, good humour and just a fun show to watch I hope season 2 gets greenlit
Directed & wrote by Celine Song; thought it would be good but man it SUCKED.
While it premiere at the Sundance Film Festival on January 21, 2023, it was soooooo boring and dragged on.
Premise was good, 2 elementary kid who had a crush on each other but girl immigrated to NY.
Connected 12 yrs later and then 12 yrs later. Too bad of a waste of a script, the girl in the movie was ok, but just didn't justify such a dragged out movie.
It did hit some emo spots for me as I went thru some long D dating (which no millennial will understand they days of skype), or the days of unicorn romances.
I appreciate good movies but those who aren't artsy fartsy film festival people will find this a 5/10
If your parents are in their 60,70,80s, they will LOVE this movie.
It's on youtube; can ping me for full HD version. 90% Mando with 10% canto.
Love / loving at 70 years old. Truly amazing cast, acting, script, and editing.
Fast paste enough and acting was just great. I enjoyed the uncle who kept getting the hand me downs from their grand children.... Nirvana t-shirts, Ken vs Ryu hats,
Someone must have been cutting onions.
Everything wrapped up well and it does well identifying family, society, lost & past love, life and death etc. Highly recommended.
can't say this is the bridesmaid movie equal cause it wasn't that scripted well towards the end.
Very not PG13, full asian cast and written / directed by asian females; there were some funny moments here and there for sure.
It's worth a watch esp when it's all filmed in Vancouver so that was pretty cool recognizing all the locations.
total crap movie.
this one wasn't actually bad. gotta say Guy Richie did an amazing job. typical war movie but well done in every way. based on a true story.
such a fun joy ride.
so cool to see it being directed by Eva Longoria
based on SORT of a ture story which has been a bit of a controversy. All in all, such an amazing ride about hispanic culture + how it can be successful.
Taiwanese movie. I can't even describe the movie. cop - LGBTQ - thriller - bromance comedy and fatherly love all mixed into one.
Netflix is called Marry my dead body.
The cop story ends at the 70% mark and 30% of the end wraps all the unexpected ends. A typical topic for an asian movie with tear jerk moments, even my family loved it.
Currently watching MF Ghost, it's a spin off based on Initial D, it's set in the same universe. Watched the first couple of episodes. It starts off slow but it introduces the character in the show. And of course classic euro beat music all around.
Another one I'm watching is called Overtake! It's an anime based on Formula 1, there's only a couple of episodes right now. First episode started really slow, hopefully the second episode picks up the pace.

what...
thank goodness i know chinese, understand some of the background story of the monkey king.... how in the world would people even enjoy this chinese series.
Mythical, high school drama with some chinese dragon ball fantasy.... totally beyond me how people can go past 1/2 the episodes.
I watched Twisted Metal recently... super fun I loved it, it's pretty stupid in some ways but if you don't take it seriously there's a lot of fun easter eggs and great violence. Anthony Mackie is pretty funny and it's a minor thing but I kinda enjoyed the fact he wasn't ripped and had a bit of a dad bod going on... made him seem like more of a regular dude. 7/10.
Also watched both seasons of Bad Batch (Animated Star Wars) the first episode didn't thrill me but I really liked it after the fact. The characters are very endearing and I had no experience with the Clone Wars side of the Star Wars story so some characters escaped their importance to me but overall really well written and beautiful backdrops/planets. 8.5/10.
Just been working through S1 and started S2 of Loki as well. It's amazing how much Tom Hiddleston and Owen Wilson seem to have bonded, they came off a bit distant in S1 but in S2 they're like in their own BFF buddy comedy now. 8/10, points deducted because shows about time travel are always a fuckin mess script-wise.
pretty decent movie.. great premise and really good filmatophy.
The only thing people who hate is the ending as it'll be an abrupt / wtf happened type ...
can't find a good example but it'll be something you have to watch.
I thought it was decent given to what they have. Julia is getting older and it's a decent movie for her as a mom.
7.5/10

If you enjoyed the Bad Batch, I'd recommend you to cherry pick the Clones-specific episodes from Clone Wars. Every now and then D+ would have pre-made selection that features a certain aspect of a series. Since you've watched Bad Batch, it is more likely you'll see something along those lines. The clone stories throughout the Clone Wars series are usually very good. They humanize the clones, and really get you to see things through their perspective. There was a multi-episode series about Captain Rex and Jedi General Pong Krell, and that was especially good. Another multi-episode series describing the inhibitor chip was similarly excellent. They really get you feeling and rooting for the clones, and see the tragedy many of them face.
this is a classic hong kong movie, it's part 2
if you have seen part 1 you would nejoy part 2.
It's not as funny but it's definitley about the dynamic of in laws and earning / standing up for yourself.
came back from honeymoon last yr to Paris so wanted to watch Napoleon.
it was a bit one dimension so didn't quit enjoy the movie.
Movie did not need to be 2.38 hrs long.
Vanessa Kirby (mission impossible chick) finally got a decent lead role .... to be butchered by Joaquin's stupid scene of trying to get her pregnant... *no idea why Ridley Scott put those stupid scenes in there.
Understand historically they needed an heir but just weird how Ridley chose those scenes as interpretation.
it was a movie that progressed thru but has zero historical value / views of France.
I dunno, if you're going to make a historical biopic, maybe it should be somewhat accurate? Otherwise just call the character something else lol
I mean they gotta create drama and intrigue somehow.
Pretty sure Robert J Oppenheimer didn't REALLY recite The Bhagavad Gita while entering a chick he was boning in real life.
