Leave the World Behind

pretty decent movie.. great premise and really good filmatophy.
The only thing people who hate is the ending as it'll be an abrupt / wtf happened type ...
can't find a good example but it'll be something you have to watch.

I thought it was decent given to what they have. Julia is getting older and it's a decent movie for her as a mom.
7.5/10

Lol this movie was trash!

Like legit this is one of the worst Netflix exclusive movies I’ve watched in memory. Julia Robert’s is done as an actress this was bordering on unwatchable imo. Ethan hawke kinda playing this doofus etc. the casting was bizarre

mikemhg 12-19-2023 12:56 PM

^I gave the film an 8/10, I thought it was quite good, I loved the premise.

Why did you hate it, because the Obama's produced it? :lol

SkinnyPupp 12-19-2023 03:37 PM

Hondaracer hates a movie with that much passion = I have to watch it

Legit couldn’t keep my eyes open watching it lol

Talked to my parents and a few friends who also watched it and they were all like wtf so I dunno lol..

It definitely feels like one of those Netflix movies they tossed a bunch of money at and viewership will neverrrrr make a return on

The 8th time I heard “the wifi isn’t working” my eyes started closing lol

quasi 12-20-2023 09:23 AM

I didn't love it but I didn't hate it either, for me it was OK maybe 6.5/10. The ending was a bit abrupt and unexpected but I think we can piece together what happens.

Hondaracer 12-22-2023 12:43 PM

If you’re into it the new season of the crown is 10/10 wow like TV and casting etc doesn’t get better

The woman playing Diana is like a replica, all the primary casting could not have been better both appearance and acting

CivicBlues 12-22-2023 01:09 PM

Iono maybe because we lived through it it's way too much Diana I would say. Can't believe they spent an entire season and a half on Charles and Diana. Now the 2nd half it's William and Kate. Snorezz.

Season 1-4 however is prestige drama at it's finest.

Hondaracer 12-23-2023 02:41 PM

Well I’d argue that prior to 9/11 Diana’s death was one of the top 10, probably top 5, events the world had experienced as a whole since WW2. The amount of people it reached globally probably justified the build up

Rebel Moon

I watched this the other day with my son and we both had the same opinion, what a terrible movie. It feels like it's trying to be Star Wars but a shitty version, would not recommend. This is Part one of at least two but I'm not investing another minute.

Goldfinger - 7.5/10
Cast was amazing, screenplay wasn't bad, the costume design was truly epic.
I didn't really connect with it as there wasn't much tension. The movie reminded me of The Wolf of Wall Street mixed with Lord of War (2005 nicolas cage).

based on a true story so that made me do a bit of research on the movie. I just didn't feel too much tension from the film.

1) Andy lau played the standard typical andy lau LOL
2) when he took out his pager, you can see blurred image of battery they used was really 80s/ 90s; that's truly attention to detail.

10/10 - extremely good series. 26 episode.
It's all about office politics - which is giving my wife and I a whole new perspective on how to know your role within my work place.
Know your worth, have a good perspective and have a well rounded vision. Really enjoyed the short burst of stories and ending it within 1 or 2 episode.

Each character and story line are tied together so it was very not typical of TVB. Truly eye opening moment on how to deal with office politics.

Enjoyed it too. Even though it was a pretty typical TVB drama in the sense of scheming and stuff it still felt different enough being about something other than doctors, lawyers, police, or business tycoons. Don't get me wrong. I'm always down for a canto drama in one of those 4 categories though. Looking forward to part 2.

6793026 - I'm still waiting for your review of Red Tide 3: Eel's Revenge..

who doesn't know him. 1st skit reminded me that I'm also old. Cant' believe it was 20 years ago when I also first watched him.... how times has passed.
since it was 45 mins, it was short and sweet to the point.

I also watched Chris Rock + Kevin Hart's special so it was really nice to have it all tie in together.

CivicBlues 01-03-2024 08:18 AM

Was it 20 minutes of Trans jokes again? Cause I can't watch another one of those if it is.

68style 01-03-2024 08:50 AM

I read that he comes right out with trans jokes and then says he's done with it but still kinda keeps circling back to it... and goes in on disabled people extra hard too.

I dunno man, think all the $ and muslim nonsense has gone to Dave's head. I'll probably skip this one.

GLOW 01-03-2024 09:26 AM

IMO didn't go hard at them, just poking ... def not as hard as last time IMO
mind you i binged this, chris rock's selected outrage, and ricky gervais armageddon all back to back so bullets were flying all over so maybe i was numb from it all

i still have to catch the chris & kevin's special

6793026 01-03-2024 09:28 AM

no trans jokes, few handicap jokes. As always, ending pulls it all in together nicely about a dreamer. Safe watch.
*Chris and Kevin special is not a comedy, it's "the making" of 2 kings so if u're expecting 90 mins of stand up, you'll be disappointed. It's more like behind the scenes documentary.

mikemhg 01-03-2024 04:54 PM

Dumb Money - 8/10

We watched it last night and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Funny, good pace to the film, reminded me of Wolf of Wall Street, to a degree.

Recommend it.

Going in and didn't expect much; then I realized the premise of the movie.

Family fun pg-13 movie... it was ok to say the least. Zero chemistry as a family, or husband and wife. A bit of action at the end.
Watch if you ain't got nothing to watch.

That graphic screams "no way" to me..

Amazon is gonna start ads with the base subscription starting Feb 2024. This sucks. I actually end up on Prime more than Netflix or D+ nowadays.

Anyone else watch Reacher? I think its pretty solid for an action fan. It well written as well.

This is the show he did here a year back I think, I went to it. It was interesting to hear how the jokes evolved. I still enjoyed it thoroughly. Lucky for me I have a really short memory when it comes to things like this, so it was almost like hearing it all for the first time again.

Marvels - no wonder they lost money 265 M budget with 205 M return.
I don't mind the female cast, just that you need to have some emotional pull to relate with the characters. Fury (Sam Jackson) wasn't really needed at all in the movie.
Why did they feel like they needed to throw in a touch of singing / dancing / bollywood is really beyond me.

Glad i had popcorn and my beer to keep me awake. wifey did enjoy the 1st Captain marvel cause the story was great but this one was just space in space and more space with space.... all the CGI and green screen got dumb after a while. Park Seo-joon had less than 5 mins screen time.

Galaxy of the guardian was great and 2 and 3 and just kept getting less traction. Please just let these die soon. Wonder how much more money they are will to lose until they kill the franchise.

SkinnyPupp 01-04-2024 04:42 PM

Just remembered I watched the newest Ant Man movie last week.. I can't really give it a number since it's the most basic bitch Marvel movie ever made so like a 3/10? But it really was pretty to look at, and all the whacky alien designs were entertaining.

We only watched it because we were going to watch Avatar 2 but saw it was 3 hours so chose something else LUL

If you have a good HDR TV it's nice eye candy, that's about it
