I watched this the other day with my son and we both had the same opinion, what a terrible movie. It feels like it's trying to be Star Wars but a shitty version, would not recommend. This is Part one of at least two but I'm not investing another minute.
Jonah hill did write this with the director... he's good as story writer in 22 jump street, but this was cringe painful in some parts.
Surprised how Eddie murphy is 62 and he hasn't aged one bit LOL.
David Duchovny was a surprise as I LOVED him in Californication; in this movie, he had like 3 lines LOL...
Movie was all over the pace, typical hollywood ending and I had no idea who Lauren London was.
Movie is about how two families with totally different religious beliefs and color coming together. Diaster of a movie, even if it was free to watch and having its moments.
Just remembered I watched the newest Ant Man movie last week.. I can't really give it a number since it's the most basic bitch Marvel movie ever made so like a 3/10? But it really was pretty to look at, and all the whacky alien designs were entertaining.
We only watched it because we were going to watch Avatar 2 but saw it was 3 hours so chose something else
If you have a good HDR TV it's nice eye candy, that's about it
Avatar 2 was a fucking SLOG, and we watched it in IMAX. I couldn't imagine watching that movie at home.
Way too long, the last third of the film was one long drawn out boss battle, with all the tropes you can think of.
Terrible film, the CGI was fantastic as expected, but the story and how it was presented was sweaty balls.
IMO didn't go hard at them, just poking ... def not as hard as last time IMO
mind you i binged this, chris rock's selected outrage, and ricky gervais armageddon all back to back so bullets were flying all over so maybe i was numb from it all
i still have to catch the chris & kevin's special
Thanks for the reminder. I have to catch Ricky's Armageddon soon.
My wife loves this guy because he's classy, no F bombs, and very international perspective. Thought it was solid.
^ I remember reading all quiet on western front in grade 5 as a book. LOL.
i was just talking to gen alpha and they said we are already lucky.
In US, there's netflix amazon, apple, NBC, paramount, etc....
in Canada, a lot of the TV channels and contents are fed into netflix already (cause A) canada market is nothing b) we are worth nothing as viewship)
so they said we consider netflix in canada being awesome ... i was shocked.....
The only person i do NOT like was Jo Coy as a standup comedian.
I enjoyed it overall. It was funny, had decent choreography, and didn't make things too serious which made it easy to watch. Although I felt the show actually started stronger, but got a bit weaker in the later episodes.
Spoiler!
Bruce's character was annoying as hell. It felt like he just got worse as the show went on, dragging the show down with him. For a guy that tried so hard to just want things to be normal and away from the triad lifestyle, he was willing to sell his own family out multiple times like an idiot. Then he sure had no problem driving off into the sunset in his gifted Lambo bought with triad money.
If there's a season 2, I wouldn't mind if they just focused on Charles and his mom, even though I know that's just wishful thinking as the point of the show is about the brothers.

I saw this tweet and was reminded of this thread because someone was complaining about episode 3, saying that they will never watch the show again after that episode
guess i had to watch it given it won a lot of awards.
Slower than i expected, and I had no idea wtf was going on or going in. My wife couldn't put her finger on the genre which is puzzling at first.
I'm a bit happy they made it into 10 episode, great characters, great plot, great cinematography....it does help when there are multiple directors to give it a spin.
I did like how the story connects all together which was not surpring after a few epioside; i liked it more that they never go to an abrupt extreme.
Don't know if i would re-watch, definitely thought it was going ot end on episode 8; good to see it stretched out until the final minutes.
I quit D+ last year, but they are doing a $1.99/month for 3 months promo for their ad-supported lowest tier, so I'm gonna be a sucker and sign up with them for 3 months. The offer ends on March 14.
Let's see how much D+ stuff I can cram into those 3 months LOL~
hey, not too bad. Him being a funny poopy lead i would not watch, but because of Hustle and Uncut Gems, Murder Mystery 1/2, i decide to give this a watch.
This is a slower movie and truly about self discover and a very slow paced movie. Ifyou want action, space time travel, crazy monster.... you won't get it. Just be prepared. it's not Intersteller, not Gravity, not Life (decent movie btw, Life, Released in 2017; huge flop at the box offfice).
Carey Mulligan did a little bit in the movie so it was a decent cast.
I did not know why it had to be a Czech movie and no idea why they chose that specific creature. It could be anything but somehow they chose that.
Is it real, is it there, what's going on... there can be multi layer ifyou want to dive deeply but I really think people will just take this movie at face value.
Germany film and it's about the Auschwitz concentration camp. Don't worry, you won't see anything about the war, no blood, no glore. In fact, it's about a man and wife during the war times and being separted and turns out to be living right beside the camp.
That's the premise of the story and pretty much it. It's taking on a bit of history without ever exposing anything about war. Heck, you only see Hilter's picture on the wall in one scene and that's it.
Is it best pic of the year, not at all. 90% of people going in will fall asleep. I found it interesting because touched a minor issue on hand. A) husband gets sent to work by HQ / boss b) wief loves it and decides to F that... and settle c) in laws couldn't deal with it (noise of being beside a concentration camp).
How many people we know is living in hotels and flies back home to see family being in sales?
How many parent moved 3-5 times in 10 years all over Canada / US and then globally.
How many in laws doesn't get how why we're working 80 hour weeks eg// how do you make money with bitcoins, youtuber, stock trader etc...
we all have our own situations.
reminds me of a young arnold Swchs. nothign worth to watch so i needed something to kill time while i'm working on the weekneds.
