I dunno I don’t try to watch shit like that and knit pick it to death. Generally just turn my brain off and at least attempt to enjoy it. There were definitely some plot holes but as a whole I really enjoyed it
It didn’t jam shit down your throat like Acolyte did which had me rolling my eyes actively while watching

There was such an overemphasis it felt on like making a point of using pronouns? Which just felt like the straw that broke the camels back for me in top of the overall shit writing and acting
Like I felt everything that entailed was substantially more than any other star wars of Disney+ show I had watched previously so it stood out and just felt tired and unnecessary.
When you read all these stories about cancelling this show was “hateful” and just because “men” get their way it makes it even more evident this was just some BS lol

I've only seen the first episode. The fight scenes are cool, but I'm not sure I like the rest of it. The scenes are the same as the original with modern anime flair. The Japanese version has some original voice actors reprising their roles, but the English version is an all-new cast.
I checked out the first episode, and the original is so much better. Some of the effects are cool, but the new one looks like flash animation and not in a good way.
Just can't beat hand drawn animation for me, sorry. Kids might prefer this though.
A friend and I used to rent it on VHS every week from the comic shop back in high school. That's when I first got into nerdy Japanese stuff, but I didn't stick with it for that long. Most of it is so cringey. But I always loved Ranma 1/2 (even though it's also cringey lol)
Ive been watching a German show on Netflix called Kleo recently, it's around the time the Berlin Wall fell and kind of a dark humour spy thriller with the female protaganist getting revenge on former colleagues.
It's pretty good, the first episode didn't completely grab me but I went back for the 2nd one and been hooked since.
I advise watching it in German with English subtitles... if you watch it dubbed everyone has British accents for some reason which is all kinds of wrong for the mood and story.
The bear season 3
Binged season 1-2 this year so glad this was up and ready.
it does continue on the story line.
I do have with this - there's always a middle episode coming out from left field that doesn't relate (too much) to the story line. Both times were with Jamie lee curtis lol....
Another episode was when they did a flash back of a character before she was hired..so random.
I like Jimmy O Yang, which is why the show caught my eye when the advertising came up. The trailer was interesting and entertaining as any good trailer ought to be, so I thought I'd give it a go.
But boy, was the trailer ever misleading... I thought it'd be more of a police drama-comedy, but it wasn't.
It wasn't a bad show. It's a mix of mystery / comedy / cultural exploration. It even touches on themes like the struggles and expectations of immigrant life and gentrification. It was interesting, funny, engaging, and at times, even captivating. But at the same time, the show also has a tendency to become confusing, convoluted, or just straight up doesn't make sense. That detracts from my enjoyment of the show, and it is unfortunate parts of it turned out that way.
The big mystery doesn't get exposed until the final episode. While it explains everything, I didn't find the explanation satisfying, so that's unfortunate too.
Chloe Bennet is easy on the eyes, but I thought Ronny Chieng was really the one that stole the show.
It also helps if you understand both Cantonese and Mandarin.
Anyone watch Senna on netflix. I thought it was really good. They really nailed the racing and the sound. The BTS is also rally good. Most of the people involved where Brazilian.

Just finished watching this. I liked it, although the whole "Chinatown/Chinese American" angle was a bit more subdued than the trailer made it seem. The showrunner Charles Yu was a writer on Westworld, and if you are familiar with that show this one makes a lot more sense. Anyways for me it was pretty obvious where the show was going by the 5th or so episode, don't know about others but yeah it's kind of a weird mind fuck ala Black Mirror.
Anyone watching the Dune HBO series? For me it's been compelling enough, but I'm not dying for the next episode to come out, like peak GOT or whatever. So far, so good
The previews and buzz on Jamie Foxx, What had happened was ... looks really good. Funny, moving, personal, and riveting account of his health scare in which he almost died.
