How to find out whether my htc magic is unlock or not

Hi there

My friend's friend help me to restore my HTC magic back to 2.1 stock rom, however, I would like to know whether my phone is unlocked. May I know how to check it ?

Please kindly advise.

Put a sim from a different carrier in and see if it works?

if its using "Stock Rom" would it be locked to which ever carrier you bought it from?

Whatever ROM on the phone has no relation to the SIM lock status of the phone.

Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a dialer code for checking SIM status.
