Anyone riding yet?

It was super nice out today, went for a short ride - fuck it is COLD! Heated grips help a lot, yet damn my nuts were frozen.

I got my first bike on Dec 24 and have been riding it whenever it's not raining. But only in the back roads, averaging 40 kp/h so I can't really feel the cold. My hands do though since I don't have gloves yet o.O

There was black ice yesterday so I didn't ride. I was really disappointed coz it was really nice out too o.O

a heated vest makes a difference. I rode all year once and I didn't like it when I could not tell if that was a puddle or black ice on a cold day.

Wimp! I was out walking around in a sweater, it is not that cold.

I need gloves without vents, better pants (ie not jeans) and I could probably do this everyday.

I rode yesterday and it was quite good! It wasn't that crazily cold if you wear couple layers inside the gears. I'm planning to do it again today before the rain/snow comes back

2010 Ninja 250r. I took it for a quick ride and decided to go a little faster for a few seconds, and I felt some rush. (only 60-70 kph haha).

Never gonna do that again till I get full gear and pass the motorcycle skill test.

I must say though, the only thing I thought about was "wow.. I'm not wearing any seatbelt."

You can ride without supervision on just the parking lot test?

Also, I've been riding all winter, but if I go any longer than 5 mins, my hands are numb.
Any longer than 10-15, and my fingers actually start hurting.

What are you guys wearing for winter gloves? I don't feel like getting a cheap pair as I can still see myself winter riding next year.

Oh so you got a Ninja eh? Ya I remember going on the highway during my PRS course, it was such a rush going 100kmph

I would advise you get gear before you do any of that again

Ride safe!

I only have summer gear. It's too cold to ride now. My bike has been in storage since November. I'm gonna do some work to it before I insure it again in April or May. Can't wait!

Heated grips > gloves!

That said, I am still going to invest in some wet/cold weather gloves... so lets hear the recommendations!

I WANT to ride. My bike's still insured. I'm not sure if I would be saving some money if I just storage-insure it or keep it insured (full).

I could just storage it and do a 'day-pass' insurance if it's nice outside, but that might be more expensive because of licensing fees and such if I do it a few times.

This week looks awesome to ride! It will be cold yet the streets are dry so no black ice to worry about. I wish I was around last week, there were some good days to ride then too.

wanted to go today but 2 degree weather's way too cold. my gear is all perforated, which makes the air even colder when it comes through the tiny holes.
