Is it just me? Or do these threads actually supply part of your daily balanced diet of fail and humor?

How the hell does someone not be able to tell a difference between ex and si model. There are clearly obvious things that tell you it's si or not.

My mom couldn't tell the difference between a civic and a bmw
one time she tried to open another person's car she thought was mine just because they are both the same color

Bump. Same situation happening to a friend of mine.

Her dad got her a car then found out the next day that its rebuilt. He specifically asked the private seller many times if it was a rebuild but seller said no. So he signed the transfer papers but did not notice that there was an R in the vehicle status that indicates that it was rebuilt. So while the seller lied verbally, he did put on the paper that it was rebuilt. Is the seller liable at all? I'm guessing not but just wanted to double check.

Yes. He believed what the guy said so didn't check the vehicle status part of the tax/transfer form where it says that it was rebuilt. I'm surprised that this even happened but now they have to deal with it and I want to try to help out.

Pretty sure a written contract overwrites a verbal one. It's shady as fuck and will be almost impossible to prove that seller lied about it verbally. Seller will just say he told them and marked it on the transfer papers. If they lied to your friend and her dad they'll lie to a court. A clear case of read the fine print, I think your friend is totally screwed.

The transfer form should have the seller's address.

By reading this part I assume he is a dealer? If so, the answer to your question is yes/no. You can file a complaint with the VSA and they can implement a fine and have them reverse the deal.

Alternatively, if you have proof that you were not told of the rebuilt status and it says "SI" on the bill of sale instead of "EX", you can go to the dealer and demand they "unwind" the deal. If they refuse, threaten them with VSA action. Chances are they will cave.

Now... go do your own research.

EVERYTHING you need to know is on this site. Start reading.
