^ nothing to do with the shop I used, they regularly build 600+hp Pcar TT. It was the poorly designed turbo and sc kits that were suppose to be the best.
I am sure there allot of skilled mechanics and fabricators out there, but how many shops have the skill, equipment, and knowledge of a car manufacturer.
As good as the aftermarket reliability and driveability has become, it is not even close to OEM.
I'd rather have a Doctor of Engineering design and build my car Vs some dude that has built some fast cars over the years.
If the shop puts on cheap kits/parts then it's still their fault. I've refused to work on numerous cars because the parts were inferior. If you can't look at a component and determine if it's made properly then you have no business installing it.
Have you looked at a new BMW (or other high-end car) and seen the "quality" engineering that goes into them? Doesn't matter how good the engineer is if he's taking his orders from an accountant that gives him a strict budget and timeline to develop a component. Posted via RS Mobile
I cry for the state of our education system when it spits out people who don't know the statistical meaning of the 99th percentile and feel they can simply round up. And you have the nerve to call me dumb?
I'm sure it's fun trying to keep that thing from rolling over everytime you meet a corner.
Not sure of the exact details but C/D publishes the explanation of how they test their cars.
I know exactly what it meant. Except when people say 99%, the assumption that goes along with it is that essentially everything in said category save a few examples. I was simply stating that you were completely false, and still are.
Nah, not really cuz I drive slow and don't have to worry about it. I didn't buy it for cornering, I bought it for reliability and for going to cool places that you can't go in your slow car.
Link me, cuz honestly it just sounds like a scam so people like you can refer to it and make it seem more legitimate.

Do you really think more than 1% of the cars on the road in BC accelerate quicker than an M6 or C4S? Cars that are quicker are few and far between.

From Wikipedia
2000 Cobra R (Ok, this ones rare i'll give you that)
"This limited-edition, 385-horse pony runs 12s and pulls 1.01g!... Our acceleration tests revealed steam catapult-like launches with 60 mph arriving in just 4.4 seconds... That compares favorably with the Corvette's 4.8-second run to 60 and 13.3 at 108.6 through the quarter mile." -Motor Trend April, 2000 Issue.
Corvette (C6)

2008 C63 AMG
"An aggressive right foot generates can't-help-smiling burnouts, while a more restrained squeeze yields a fuss-free launch, followed by a hair-raising 3.9-second explosion to 60 mph, easily outrunning the other two. Upshifts happen quickly, leaving just the smallest interruption in the surge of power on the way to a blazing 12.3-second quarter-mile at 116 mph" - Car and Driver

<Yawn> That's a stretch to find one on the road. While it may be faster than my C4S, it's still not faster than my 996 Turbo at 4.0s to 60 and 12 second 1/4 mi.

The real question is,do you have the skill to be able to drive a 996 turbo to accomplish those speeds.
Or do you just bench race, due to the lack of driver skill?
Here's a good rule of thumb: If we disagree, I am right and you are wrong.

Oh really? Well I have a big e-peen too buddy old boy. And for one, you still haven't linked me to anything about this "correction for atmospheric condition" thing that C/D does.
And my apologies, I was scanning and there are indeed different models of the Cobra.
He's scared of sliding out of a corner back end first and bursting into flames.
I really havent been paying 100% attention to marco911 but what car does he own again?
