| iPhone 4 vs BlackBerry
I have an iphone 4 and whenever i argue with blackberry users about which phone's better, its gets so heaty and never ends. Everytime one person gets mad. Any opinions and unbiased ways to explain why each of them are good/bad?

Simple. Everyone that has an iPhone will say "oh iphones the best" and everyone that has a BlackBerry will say "ya blackberry ftw"
There is no "winner". It really depends what suits you.
iPhones = Jailbreak & Games etc
BlackBerry's = BBM, 'Business' Emails etc

I myself has owned both bb and iPhone. iPhone is way more user-friendly and alit more developed than the blackberry. An obvious pro to blackberries is that try have bbm and a physical keyboard. Interfac is pretty fast too. I myself secretly love the blackberry interface although I'm a iPhone/android fanboy. You can switch applications very fast. Blackberry can't compare to the iPhone in entertainment.. Games, apps etc. Browser really sucks too. I hate scrolling thru pages using the trackpad or scrollball. Download speeds are horrific for the blackberry. Another pro is that bb's have pretty good battery life (curve an bold). I personally like the bold 1 > bold 2&3 because of the bigger keyboard and bigger screen.. Dunno what rim was thinking when they downsized the bold.. Then I played with my friends storm.. It was horrible. Touchscreen sucked ass. The I traded my friend his torch for my iPhone for a day just for fun.. The torch battery sucks ass and touchscreen sucks too.. The torch lags like fuck.. Even rotating the screen can freeze it and keyboard feels very cheap.
Now comes the cons of the iPhone. There is a solution to literally every flaw unlike blackberries cause the iPhone has so much backsupport. Shitty keyboard? Download a simplified version. Cracked screen? Just fix it yourself it's pretty easy. No flash? Download skyfire browser and it supports almost all flash.
So literally the only thing why the bb is better is because of battery life and bbm and a keyboard and email.. But iPhone battery isn't bad either.
iPhone can do everything a bb can do besides bbm. Blackberry can't do over 50% of the things an iPhone can do.
Okay last sentence might be biased but its pretty true. I stick to that line unless someone can prove me wrong.
Hope I helped.. Just ask if you have any more questions.

Bb = work Posted via RS Mobile |

went from bb to iphone 4 about 5 months ago. not going back haha. blackberry is full of lag and start up takes horrifically long. Call quality isn't the greatest either, people are always asking me what I'm trying to say... I like that it has a button for camera and the keyboard is great. BBM is awesome but I am finally getting the hang of whatsapp which is just a tad slower than bbm but it's way better since it's cross platform. Build quality is no contest and neither is interface. Everything just runs smoother on the iphone and maybe a little biased but I think it's much more attractive.
BB really lacking in apps and pretty shitty browser. Standard iphone might be a bit of a debate but a jailbroken one is a no contest IMO.
If there is one thing I'd have to improve on the iphone would be the battery life. Nothing to complain about if you only use it as a phone for calls/text/emails.but being that there are just so many apps, and the best music player on a phone IMO, the battery needs an upgrade so that the iphone can be used fully as the great all rounder that it is

I tried both BB and Iphone.
BB - unfriendly UI, seems outdated and takes WAY too many menu selections to do a simple task like receiving bluetooth files. QWERTY keyboard is good.
iphone - simple UI, lots of games, but imo not customizable enough, I went cross eyed from screen after screen of square icons.
ended up buying Android.

haha, I have both a Blackberry 9700, and an iPhone 3GS. Funnily enough, my blackberry is personal, and the iPhone is my company phone (don't ask, my CIO is an apple fanboy).
Honestly, I hate my iPhone. It has the most polished interface, but it's also so watererd down that you don't have many options to change. You can't change the notification tone for your emails - so when you and the 10 people around you all get an email, everybody has to check their phones. You can't disable that stupid text notification that pops up. You can't change the auto-correct that works in horrible ways. When I'm playing a game - the stupid text message notification pops up and stops me from scoring a goal in fifa. Why would I have to go into airplane mode just to play a game?
Now before any of you say - you should jailbreak it - I think it's retarded that you would have to crack the software to improve something. As much as my BlackBerry isn't perfect - there isn't anything about it that bugs me anywhere as much as the above points I mentioned. Yes, the browser isn't great. Yes, there aren't many apps for it. But I can send texts, I can send emails, I can send bbm messages better than with anything on the iPhone.
and that Red LED on the top is a GODSEND. If I'm out of the room and a message or email comes through on my iPhone - I have no idea. I'd have to UNLOCK my iphone every time to check. with my BlackBerry - I can see the red LED in the corner of my eye that tells me I have a new message.
Maybe I'll go Android.... but I'm sticking with these phones for a while...

There's a lot of different blackberries. It depends which one you use to compare it to the the Iphone.
I have to use a BB for work (as it's given to me by my work) and I have to say I've gotten so used to my Storm I don't know that I would give it back. But it's a PHONE not an entertainment systems like an Iphone or the more capable Andriod phones. I prefer it that way personally. Sure I have a couple of apps to play with when I'm standing in line at the bank, and I the GPS when I need to get some where but the primary use of it is for communication - via Email, IM, BBM, Text and (though less than the others) talk. As a communication device I think BB excels. It's easy to use, intuitive and reliable.
If you want a phone that is going to be used for communicating with others primarily, IMO you can't go wrong with a blackberry. If you want an entertainment system in your pocket that you sometimes talk on - go with the Andriod or Iphone.
Also note - Blackberry's compress data like no other phone I've ever seen. If you're looking to save some money on your bill but still need to be able to get email and such on your phone you can get away with a much lower data plan on a BB so long as you're not streaming video from youtube or anything.

^^ if you're using WIND or Mobilicity's unlimited data plans, or any data plan above 1GB the BB's data compression becomes a moot point.
I find that Android is a good compromise between BB and Iphone.
-You can buy androids with physical QWERTY keypads, some have notification LEDS like BB.
- Pretty much all Androids have large screens for reading emails and web browsing. I've found that reading e-mails or web browsing on small screens such as the Curve or Bold to be less than ideal.
- E-mails/msgs are forwarded to android are prompt as well.

It pretty much boils down to 2 main points.
If u like playing games and use a lot of apps, then iphone is the way to go.
If u like to txt a lot and don't really care abt fancy apps, then BB is the way to go.
Do I miss my iphone? Maybe from time to time, but personally, nothing beats a physical keyboard. Posted via RS Mobile |

I love my Blackberry 9780 + ipod touch 4. Best of both worlds. Jailbreak allows me to use bluetooth connection so that my ipod can use my blackberry's data. That being said I had an iphone 3gs and it wasn't for me because of the touch screen keyboard. Posted via RS Mobile |

I'm going iPod touch 4 + htc desire right now price of an iphone 4 yet I can have best of both worlds. If you have all the widgets set right for android it can be 100x more useful than a blackberry. I love how I can just visit a website and sync the websites calendar to my own. With swype I can type faster than a blackberry user with just one finger. Whatsapp is just as fast as bbm on android IMO..

Blackberry is only better if you constantly need email and BBM.
Other than that its shit, and I'm a blackberry user

I have a personal iPhone 4 and a Bold 9700 for work.
There is no way in hell I would ever switch to a BlackBerry as my sole device.
For me, pretty much the only thing the BlackBerry has an advantage on is BlackBerry Messenger.
The iPhone wins for everything else.

The iPhone wins for everything else. | I dislike the old Bold. The newer QWARTY phones with the touch pad are better than the track ball but I still dislike it personally.
Most Iphone users do better on a Storm II or a Torch.
