So I'm bored on the bus, checking out google news, and I see the Tech and Business sections.
Tech: "ISPs tell MPs UBB necessary for Canadians not to fall behind"
Business: "Telus sees record profits in 'most competitive' quarter".
Anyone else notice that Telus isn't going to the CRTC? That Telus isn't doing anything except trying to compete more? With Optik and their other services, I think Bell and Shaw are starting to feel the pain and are looking for a way to reduce future losses. This is one of those few times I'm glad I'm with Telus, no reservations. Posted via RS Mobile |

i think ISPs can charge whatever they want.. if customers dont like, dont use them... isnt it simple as that?
but for CRTC to say companies cant do business here coz they are not more then 50% Canadian is ridiculous.. As long as there are places to employ people, isnt that good?

try doing business in china.
cars in china (unless were imported illegally) are all made and put together in china. any car that was imported legally faces a hefty fine and hefty tariffs. Quote:

Let's imagine that a company funded outside of Canada decides that they want to come into the Canadian market. So in order to compete, they use outside funding in order to develop their infrastructure AND underprice the competition. So they eliminate the home-grown companies; sometimes by using outside/non-canadian labour or expertise or the like. Then, once they have a significant market share and/or have eliminated the competition, there is very little preventing them from overcharging.
