i am not trying to argue anything, im just saying that cod has a massive cult following and will out sell any fps shooter these days , most ppl thought black ops was gonna not sell much, turned out everyone bought it. Dont get me wrong battle field is an amazing game.
Granted that could be true, but why bring this into a thread about bf3? Especially since both games are not even close to release.
I am just glad they are bringing back jets and prone!

I bought Black Ops.
Played it for like a week, and went right back to BFBC2/Vietnam

never bought black ops had enough from the cod before it (cant remember what its called)
COD is just too arcadey, simple, easy... it has its place, a quick game fix if you only had like 5-10mins to play. It's merely a button masher and you get like a million kills, a game for the ADD kids
how is CS arcadey....CS 1.6 is one of few games that demands the most skills out of any FPS game.
the recoil in BF games is nothing compared to cs..but i love how BF2/BF3 has bullet drop and guiding missiles/AT rockets have a nice learning curve.
Although BF and CoD are different games...you'd be a fool not to think they are trying want a bigger slice of the CoD-fanbase pie...and this is obvious from the similarity in game trailers and in many aspects of singleplayer games (I never really considered BF games to be singleplayer anyways).

cs doesnt require "most skills" out of any fps game. Its easier to control the recoil in cs than it is in bf

Yup.
You don't have to account for distance/wind.
CS hitboxes are HUGE. Even bigger in Source. It's ridiculous.
There's nothing more satisfying, than getting a Marksman Headshot from across the map when you account for Distance/wind/movement juuust right. All that while shit is exploding, Choppers are crashing, and buildings are crumbling all around you. Think an asshole is camping behind that wall? Shoot a rocket at it, or launch a 40mm Nade. No more wall, and a kill.
I hope BF stay's true to their roots. I enjoy playing all COD titles but BF is very different right now. I hope it stays that way. I enjoy the slow more challenging aspect of BF. Bigger maps and harder kills is what makes it what it is IMO
Loved playing BF:BC2, probably wasted way more time on that, having fun, than I ever did with COD. If the graphics throughout stay true to the trailers, that enough has me sold; I'm a sucker for the realism.
Loved the idea of always accounting for distance, bullet fall, wind, almost EVERYTHING when using a sniper; made it the best part. And there weren't retarded AC130 strikes from campers every 20 seconds
^ True, but at least the maps were big enough, and the strike was small enough, that you could easily avoid it. I was more worried about land mines than mortar strikes anyday.

I kept getting caught by those, but then I figured fuckit, and just shelled the ground every once in a while.
I'm starting to think Frostbite 2.0 is going to similar to the source engine when HL2 debuted in 2004. I thought they were exaggerating when they said you don't have to wait until next-gen gaming to see cutting-edge visuals..i know it's only low res video but that was pretty amazing...it's a shame they don't develop big titles on PC as lead platform anymore...
holyshit at the building collapsing.. was just listening to Invisible Walls on gametrailers and mentioned about the ground cracking and building, they said too bad they couldnt film it as it was visually impressive, all done in real time
hmmm i think its time i upgrade my 9800 gt vid card.... lol.. i was content with playing bfbc2 and crysis on medium setting...
not sure how feasible this is from a development standpoint..but i hope they let players be able to enter some of the high rises...that will be fun for sniping because if you are being hunted no only do you have to check the roof you have to check each window...but if killcam is developed that will ruin the fun.

They said killcams can be turned off, I think. Too bad everyone that goes from COD to BF3 will keep them on. I'll admit though, sometimes I wish the person could see some of the shots I make.
