I'd rather take two or more shots to get someone than waste time lining up the head. I actually like hitting moving targets, and to pick the leg as they barely make the corner on the second shot is satisfying.
JD, you'd think using the .50 would mean 1 shot kills for everyone sniping? You happen to know when the velocity drops on a .50? Just curious.

A couple inches maybe depending on conditions. Not at all like in the game where you have to aim many feet over a guys head at only 3-400m. That being said it still puts MW3 to shame where weapons shoot bullets at the speed of light.
CorneringArtist - I can tell you in reality that if you get hit by a 50cal anywhere in your centre of mass you are dead, it'll cut you in half. Most 50's have a muzzle velocity of about 850m/s but the weight of the bullet means it's carrying a lot more energy so your compensation is different versus a smaller caliber rifle, as is the rounds effect on target. 
If you want to see the difference in getting hit by what's probably a .308 vs a .50 look below. Mods if it's not cool just delete the photos.

I've unlocked the straight pull for m98 and l96 and I like the reload on the m98 better. But am I going about it all wrong? I thought straight was the way to go but bipod seems effective. What accessories are you guys using for your bolt action rifles? Posted via RS Mobile | |

I'm curious, isn't the whole point of the laser to basically increase aim at the hip? What's the advantage on sniper rifles?

Personally I don't like it too much because I think it gives away my position as a sniper just like a tactical light. Thanks for the suggestion I've been using 8 and 12 with the bipod to unlock the straightbolt and I was doing quite well with it. I'll continue to stick with it for now thanks Posted via RS Mobile | |

people need to wake the fuck up and start using the silencer on the rifles. they don't decrease damage only range. and you are at min damage at ~70 yards. any hs at any range with the main 3 bolt rifles = a kill and none of them are 1 hit at any range anywhere else on the body. so if you miss the head you have to hit them again and the least amount of damage you can do is 50 so... hs at any range = kill anything alse at any range = 2 hits for the kill. so in essence the silencer doesn't pose any drawback. but you'll always be hidden from the minimap.

^ To be honest, I can't stand silencers, Call of Duty ruined the hell out of them since EVERYONE would use one. If you're using a PDW on an urban map, sure why not. But when I'm laying AIMED suppression fire on you with an M249, you shouldn't be able to pop me with a random spray due to the silencer's recoil reduction.
