I always make sure the tank is filled or nearly filled before giving it out to a customer.... If you're getting your courtesy cars on E then you should re think where you get your car serviced.

Okay...I don't know, maybe your level or reading comprehension is low, so I guess I'll quote it for you to give it another shot:

Quote:
Everytime I have been given a courtesy car, I have to fill the tank up before giving it back.
I never said anything about having the car given to me on "E." I said I have to fill the tank back up before I give the car back. If they don't receive the car with the tank full, they send you a bill.

BTW, I get my car serviced at BJ BMW under warranty. I have a BMW 328i and they always give me a brand new 335i as a courtesy car. They also give me valet service to my house which is about an hour away from their dealership so I never have to drive there. So yeah...I don't think I need to re-think where I get my car serviced, in fact I feel pretty confident when I say that I probably get better service from them than most other people on this forum get from any of their dealerships.

lol sorry bro.....umad?

How come to refill it before returning it? Do they ask you to do that?

And maybe your level of judging if a car is brand new is low.... If they gave a brand new 335i out to every service customer, they would lose thousands in depreciation each day... I think what you mean to say is, they give you a relatively new 335i that they used as a service loaner for everyone.

Or has BJ BMW upgraded their service dept. so every person has a personal loaner waiting for them?

Your example isn't even comparable in a situation like this. What have you seen from a service department in regards to a situation like this?

You think really every service department would man up and fix a something like a paint scratch? Think again dumbshit

Does that make it okay for them to ignore it? Does that mean I should be THANKFUL when a dealership does do the right thing and mans up to repair it?
Think again dumbshit. It's what is expected from a good business.

They ask you to refill the tank, or they will send you the bill for the fill-up if you don't.

I didn't do the same thing. There's a huge difference between getting the car given to me on E and simply returning the car with a filled tank. As you said, giving a customer a car with no gas in it is just bad service. Anyway, that's irrelevant now.

k..so i got the car back..scratches are not deep at all... BUT they said i would be without it for an entire week!!! i will ask for a large vehicle as I have to install my childseat into it for that 1 week.

Other than that, yes they can have it and repaint it..i dont mind. but they have been very good about it and i'm not going to bad mouth them at all.

^ glad to hear that
a. Not very deep scratches
b. They are spending the time needed for a proper fix.

But sucks that it's a week at the same time.

and @ noob. Theres a huge difference between BJ giving out brand new 335is to every service customer as loaners.... btw who are you a duplicate account of? All of your posts are sarcastic or bitching at people...

Maybe you guys have misunderstood me. I'm not saying they are treating you poorly. Yes, they have done something wrong and are fixing their mistake. However, I'm saying I do feel that, if they truly have top-notch service, they would offer something extra for their wrongdoings. All I'm saying is that, if they don't offer anything them self, you could simply ask if they can offer you something extra to compensate for any inconveniences this may have caused you. If they say no, I'm not saying to badmouth them. At that point, you simply move on and decide whether you think they have treated you fairly enough for you to go back there the next time you need something done. Simple.

They are already doing more work for you that you paid them to do unless they charged you extra. At least they were honest with you, I wouldn't fish for more.

It comes down to personal feelings on the subject. It's like tipping. Do I suck up the not stellar service and tip, or be a douche and no tip.

You want to go in and be a douche, go nuts. They'll give you something to shut you up, and call you a douche behind your back. Or....you could say that they could have not said anything, and argued you about the scratch and see that they lost a shitload of money keeping you as a customer.

Myself, my dignity has a price. I wouldn't be the douche.

On the flip side, I'd also give a little something to put it over the top, but keep in mind, for some people, whatever you give is never enough.

im glad to hear that a dealership is admitting fault and is taking actions to fix the problem.

i only thing i'd be worried with is poor quality.

i know i've seen some car's bumpers painted with on spot painter guys and the quality is just shotty. they dont do a bad job matching the paint, but just lots of dust spots and orange peel. I would request them to have a profession body shop job and wetsanded afterwards for a more factory finish.

best of luck.

i remember working for a dealership that scratched a G35's bumper, fixed it that day at THEIR body shop, and then brought it back to the customer... didn't say shit... scary what happens there... that's why my car only ever went back for re-keying

I'm an assistant advisor at burrard acura. Trushar apologizes and for all the inconvenience caused and the technician is sorry as well. He told me that we have you booked in for next week. about the paint matching no worries we'll make sure itll look good before returning to car to ya.
I can help you ask if we can throw you a complimentary oil change for your next visit =)

It's not like the scratch was caused by grossly incompetent staff, who would obviously not come forward about it in the first place. It was an honest mistake that could happen to anyone at any shop, and they did the right thing.

Let's face it, in this time and age what more can you ask for. You have people churning out improperly built houses, rip offs and scams up the ass, honesty and pride in a business isn't exactly a common thing anymore.
