Navigon and tomtom both work well sadly I was using tomtom on my iphone 4 and navigon on ipad, they both keep dropping signals. I believe cause the gps signal isn't all that strong, so with out data it'll work but just dropped signals every now and then.

Tried with data on ipad went thru downtown didn't drop once.

Just from my testing, that being said there's a add-on you can get for tomtom it's an external gps unit and it should work quite a bit better.

It should work don't see why if it has an ipod adapter plug it in and give it a shot. And when you "buy" the app for 50 it should have the settings to use external gps
