I've only been on this rom for about a couple days and my usage varies.
But right now I'm sitting at about 46 percent battery life, and I have roughly 14 hours of usage

Still waiting for a finely tuned ICS rom.. or when checkrom makes one.
Rather stick to fine tuned GB > ICS atm.

Give hydrogen ICS a shot. IMO its the best there is, and if you dont like it you can always fall back onto your nandroid backup.
Once you've had ICS its hard to go back to GB

Is there a reason though? If I don't restore system data, I lose my Memos and some other important settings. Is this the only way?

I just switched to Hydrogen over the official samsung LPQ. So far so good but I haven't had much time to play around with it. I love all the customization in it though. This is what I had imagined an ICS upgrade be like. Quote:

didn't like the UI, or the MTP file transfer | Also not sure if you're aware but ICS still has the normal file transfer. You just have to do an extra step before connecting the cable. (I forget what it is because Hydrogen does it automatically but it's in the settings then you have to find the connect to usb button)
As for the UI the samsung ICS looks pretty much identical to the GB one...

For those using the Hydrogen, do you guys have the camera.apk that would enable the volume button as a "shoot" button?

Just make sure you follow the instructions for installation and you'll be fine. But like I said I havent run into any problems, but so many people on XDA seem to have issues

6 months later I'm back to the SGS2! Feels good to be back! Missed the size and build of this phone. Nexus had an awkward feel to it.
I've got some catching up to do with ROMS and the ICS update.

I've got some catching up to do with ROMS and the ICS update. | Lol. Congratulations I guess? Build quality is the same although it feels like the nexus is slightly better. I'd miss the higher resolution though.

I misspoke when I said build quality for they're probably the same throughout the Galaxy line up; however form and function varies between the models.
I've been reminded that the Galaxy S2 is light as a feather whereas the Galaxy Nexus has some weight to it.
I also felt that I would miss the resolution but changing the DPI on the SGS2 will allow me to have that crisp clean look similar to that of the Nexus. Although resolution is better on the Nexus, I can see a big difference between the Super AMOLED plus and Super AMOLED screens. SGS2 has better contrast and overall wet look to the screen that was missing in my Nexus.
I also went for the white version this time which I'm pretty excited for. It's eye catching and will stand out from the other SGS2's in my opinion.
This is a temporary move however. Just waiting for the HTC One S to come out; I hope that will remind me of my Nexus One that I loved (the phone that sold me on Android!)

I think I'd probably choose the gs3 over the htc. But I'll know better by May 3rd.

My plan is by the end of April/May when the SGS3 gets announced, the HTC One S will be out and affordable and that initial inflation will be gone.
And then in June/July, the SGS3 inflation will be gone but I have a feeling that the SGS3 will be another Nexus (minor improvements without any major revamps.)
