Does anyone know how to sync Outlook with Android. I want to sync my Calendar from my outlook to the S2. Can't seem to figure out how =/
Easiest way would be to export your outlook and import it to your GMail so you never have to worry about any phones you buy in the future, and whether or not they will sync with outlook. You can export your calendar, contacts, notes, etc. all to GMail and then simply add them to your phone using your GMail account.
god, how the hell did u get $15 monthly plan credit?! so jealous right now.
mmm those were from a long time ago..every time they screwed up my bill and I had to chat them up for an hour I always got them to compensate me..
its much easier to get monthly plan credits first..then attempt for the feature credits than the other way around cos reps tend to tell you nowadays they'll credit your incoming calls for example but apply a plan credit and tell you you can't get anymore credits cos you maxed out your plan credits already. They won't willingly switch ur plan credits to feature credits to give you more cos the plan credit is tied to your incoming calls.
Deciding between this phone and the bold touch. So torn, this phone does everything and the berry just has bbm going for it (screens tiny as hell if you compare the two).
Does anyone know where to get the galaxy locally besides craigslist? Also what case do you guys have on it? I'm scared that with the plastic housing and me being a butterfingers it'll break really easily without a case.
If you're spending top dollar on a phone I'm pretty sure you'll be taking good care of it
If you need the Berry for work and email then get it. Otherwise its pretty useless IMO.
My gf was a hardcore Berry user, now she's on android and she still gets by using that for work Posted via RS Mobile
hmm i dunno I use QQ Player and it works well for me.
Oddly enough, right after I posted that it started working lol
Have any of you tried disabling your camera shutter?
I've googled it and apparently there are two ways, the easiest seems to be to create a local.prop file
then entering some text into that file

The ROM I use removes the shutter sound. It just makes the focus beep.

Barely there is soft touch inside and out. I haven't had it scratch any of my 3 devices yet.
The patents – among other things, and simply put – covers the following:
EP 2,058,868 – method of scrolling / browsing gallery;
EP 2098948 – recording a “flag” in connection with multiple screen taps, of which Samsung would use the system by using Android 2.3 or later version;
EP 1,964,022 – method of “unlocking” of a portable device through the touch screen an “unlock image” in a way to drag.
The judge will infringe on EP 2,058,868 by Samsung smartphones Galaxy S, S II and Ace (not the Galaxy tablet computers), but points off debts for EP 2098948, EP 1964022, designs, copyrights and slavish (style) imitation.Assigns ban for Netherlands against Korean companies Samsung and many European countries (including the Netherlands) against Netherlands-based companies. Here's an even better feature; using the volume down button to autofocus then snap a shot.
Instructions:
(Your phone needs to have root access before you do this)
1. Download the apk file provided above.
2. Using a program like Root Explorer, navigate to /system/app (click the top button to Mount R/W).
3. Rename the current Camera.apk to something like Camera.apk.old
4. Copy or Move the apk file I provided to /system/app
5. Click Mount R/O back on top
6. Reboot
7. Take pics using volume down button
note: this will still have the volume down sound when u take a shot. if you wish to remove the volume down sound (**will completely remove your volume down sound**)
Navigate to /system/media/audio/ui (make sure it is Mount R/W) and remove or rename "TW_Volume_control.ogg"
I'm not sure if the camera.apk file i provided has removed the shutter sound, but if you want to:
Spoiler!
1. Using Root Explorer, navigate to system/media/audio/ui (make sure it is Mounted R/W)
2. Rename or remove camera_click.ogg, camera_click_short.ogg, Shutter_01.ogg
3. Reboot
I think that should take care of your shutter sounds
