Hey guys got a question. Just picked up the phone from Bell and am trying to root it. Which kernal should I be using if I need KG2? There are 3 to choose from...
CF-Root-SGS2_ZS_OZS_KG2-v4.1-CWM4.zip
CF-Root-SGS2_JP_XSG_KG2-v4.1-CWM4.zip
CF-Root-SGS2_XX_OXA_KG2-v4.1-CWM4.zip
Is CF-Root-SGS2_XX_OXA_KG2-v4.1-CWM4.zip the newest version? Your help is appreciated!

So I did some researching and found out that the baseband has to do with the radio.
Is there one baseband version thats better than the other? I upgraded my android version by flashing VillainRom. But baseband is not upgraded.
Mine is still the same as when I got it, I9100MUGKG2.

Not much difference I went back to kg3 after trying a bunch of new radios. Some had worse battery life and 1 even gave me no signal.

I had a similar problem when I flashed Siyah kernel for a day.
It's probably some settings that you have to play with. I was too lazy to play around with the governors and stuff so I just flashed back to CF-root kernel and it was fine after that.

Hmm I'm on Siyah kernel 2.1.1 so far so good. Most of the time my phone is either deep sleep or at 200mhz. I've reset my CPUSpy stats and will see what happens.

So has anybody been able to find some info on what those faint vertical lines are that plague the galaxy s2 screens? Ill admit they are super hard to see, but they're only visible on certain colors/backgrounds

I'm just curious because I came across it while browsing yesterday and I didnt see a definitive answer as to what it is/what causes it

I finished flashing my baseband.. and i found a theme here ( [Theme/Mod/Apk] XXKI4, XWKI8 - JKay Deluxe v12.1 - How the SGS2 should be! 2011-10-21 - xda-developers ) that i liked.. but i have problems installing..
I keep getting an error when installing and everything should be correct according to what i'm seeing. Since i flashed villainrom3.0, im using the deodexed version of it, but it's still not working.
E:Error in /sdcard/download/XXKI4_JKay_BlueCircle_delux_themeV12_1_deodexed.zi p(Status 7 )
Keeps giving me Installation aborted.
Any help is appreciated.
TIA

Hey guys, I am currently running android version 2.3.4, baseband I9100XXKG1 on my Galaxy S2. It has been rooted and I upgraded the version through odin.
I have never installed a custom rom and a bit clueless about all this rom and flash stuff. Is there any guide on how to install VanillaRom on my phone that is using 2.3.4?
Thanks in advance.
