looks like a run n' gun clusterfuck haha
too similar to MAG..i thought socom was supposed to be more tactical than that...could just be the video was poorly potraying this game
but it does look like it'll be fun with the move controller and SMG attachment.

well at least Zipper is including a "Classic" mode for those dedicated purist.. they just trying to make this game more mainstream, the more players the better

I cant believe i put up going through the cluster fuck of a menu system in Confrontation for a year and half.. that game was soo broken, cant believe they even released it....... but if it wasnt for the community of socom players, the game would have been dead 3 months after its release... that game still has an average of maybe 7000+ players to this day

but yeah i love the teamwork in these games..... camping is a big part of the game, you just gotta play smart....

definitely a buy for me in april

hmmm.. i never considered using the move either, always feels like its a tiresome/tedious way to play.. playing fps games on the wii like metroid, its one thing to shoot something and aim using the right analog stick but if u have your hand out in the air, after maybe 20 mins or so, your hand gets tired from that aiming..

but i might end up buying the sharpshooter bundle anyways.. want to get a Move for other games like KZ3 and other ones coming out this year

but wow, after watching this vid, i thought the sharpshooter was just a hunkajunk plastic peripheral like what wii has.......

it has customizable buttons on the gun that gets remapped when you connect the Move.. looks pretty cool, the fact that Socom actually takes advantage of this feature

probably a learning curve but i can see quite a few using it with the sharpshooter.

I've been holding off KZ3 campagin for the sharpshooter bundled with the socom4.

cod and socom will be extremely diff but cod is a very fast paced game and I don't know if people can switch over after years of not playing socom.

Is it me or was the socom gameplay just shit. all i hear is just bullets hitting metal, i couldn't hear the difference with the diff. gun in the video. maybe it's just me.

so tons of footage from private betas have been popping up on youtube

for those wondering what the mp will look like, it feels more similar to the old Socom games ( but i suppose those loyal to socom 2 can contest against me on this) and definitely not like Confrontation with its very stiff controls

you can find some good ones here

http://socom4hq.com/?p=152

the beta will be available to those with PSN+ tomorrow.... im actually considering of getting the 3 months membership just to play this game..

so im in the beta, ended up buying the ps+

the beta schedule works the same way every week, each day has different game modes up

Quote:
Tuesday (3/22) – Suppression, Classic Suppression, Scrum (Custom), Community Day Classic (Custom)
Wednesday (3/23) – Uplink, Classic Uplink, Suppression, Classic Suppression
Thursday (3/24) – Last Defense, Classic Last Defense, Uplink, Classic Uplink
Friday (3/25) – Bomb Squad, Classic Bomb Squad, Last Defense, Classic Last Defense
Saturday (3/26) – Sniper Alley (Custom), Last Defense Run ‘n Gun (Custom), Bomb Squad, Classic Bomb Squad
Sunday (3/27) – Scrum (Custom), Community Day Classic (Custom), Sniper Alley (Custom), Last Defense Run ‘n Gun (Custom)
Monday (3/28) – Suppression, Classic Suppression, Scrum (Custom), Community Day Classic (Custom)

Suppression: The SOCOM take on team deathmatch.
Last Defense: Capture controls points, discover the enemy base and destroy it.
Uplink: Steal enemy data and deliver it to your base.
Bomb Squad: Defend your bomb technician while he disarms enemy explosives.
Sniper Alley (Custom): An 8 vs. 8 version of Classic Suppression with higher damage. Weapons are limited to sniper rifles, shotguns, smoke grenades and poison gas.
Last Defense Run 'n Gun (Custom): Faster movement speed and reduced damage are applied to 16 vs. 16 Last Defense with weapons restricted to only shotguns and SMGs.
Scrum (Custom): Suppression is given rule tweaks of no respawn, faster movement and higher damage, while sniper rifles, frag grenades, concussion grenades and poison gas are disallowed.
Community Day Classic (Custom): A medley featuring Classic versions of all four game types (Suppression, Last Defense, Uplink and Bomb Squad) with increased speed and weapon restrictions placed on ranged explosives. Each game type is played over 11 five-minute rounds.
- the mic comm is kinda messed up, but its open mic, no need to press a button
- aiming down on your sights is kinda useless, since shooting from the hip has the same accuracy, its only good for long distance, but for those long time COD players, this is a habit you will make everytime you see an enemy
- melee is a complete miss, its almost useless unless you find someon standing still like a sniper, but even then everyone moves fast
- speaking of moving fast, unlike confrontation where you move very stiff, the controls are very fluid in this game

the classic mode is really where its at, the 2 available maps are great..

as for the Sharpshooter, i seriously highly doubt anyone will use this for MP..
