unless you want to wear them for rec ice hockey too, you might as well get those dri fit shirts with padding on themt hat mission adn rbk make for roller.

dbaz 04-15-2011 10:19 PM

yea i think it might be the 5030. want them because im thinking about doing ice hockey as well but also because im kinda missing shoulder pads as i block a shit load of shots and in the higher tiers not many people had weak shots

Hey guys, more newb questions.
As far as wheels go, would 72mm for both front and 80mm for both rear work? I'm not sure what I usually use. Or for indoor do you generally make sure they're all the same size?

And also are there certain sticks you aren't aloud to use? Like composite?
Thx :)

edit: figured out sizing. As for hardness/softness, Im only 155lbs, but I'd like a wheel that will let me get up to speed quick. Would 74 be too soft?

74a is fine. I'm roughly 150lbs and that's what I use. Also, 72mm/80mm is pretty standard for hi/lo chassis. You can also go 72mm/76mm as that will allow you to carry more speed into your turns. As for stick, you can use anything, although I wouldn't use a OPS for roller, go with a composite shaft with a good blade.

if you have the money... get a shaft and composite replacement blades... i just used my base stick on roller and the balde held up very well.. mind you, i was never afraid to use a shattered blade in roller bc the puck is so light it barely effects my shot

Thanks guys. I think I'm pretty much good to go for gear now. The pants I got fit me well but the leggings are pretty wide, looks goofy to me.

Also when I'm putting new bearings into wheels will I need anything like washers? Or can I just take apart the wheels/bearings that came with my rollerblades and use the stuff in there?

In lower tiers everyones trying to act tough and a lot of teams are full of heatscores lol. Higher the tier the guys all know when to keep it within the boards.

yup, can't do power crossovers without slipping

nrg604 04-19-2011 10:49 PM

burnaby lake is brutal. you need a brand new set of wheels per game to play there or you'll be sliding all over the place.

Jgresch 04-19-2011 11:17 PM

I can't stay on my feet lolol super slippery at minaru

I gotta lead the team in something right? haha

Get pucks on net. Like ^ mentioned 14 is probably their best player. You shouldn't really have any problems with that team. See ya may 4th:cool:

!Nhan 04-21-2011 08:17 PM

no, siege should have solid goaltending. their #1 goaltender is probably their best player.
